The Director of Internal Communications will join ADT’s growing, dynamic Corporate Communications function to develop and execute an internal communications strategy that successfully delivers messages to and engages employees across North America. The Director will play an integral role in initiatives that help inform, align and engage team members and grow the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
·Work in close concert with senior leadership to communicate strategic initiatives to employees. Write management letters, talking points, speeches and other correspondence to communicate key messages to team members.
·Evaluate and continually optimize internal channels to determine the most effective methods to deliver news and information.
·Serve as editor-in-chief of all internal communications channels. This includes mining for compelling stories, overseeing drafting and editing of content, development of multi-media features and dissmenation to employees.
·Direct and manage all Human Resources communications to employees regarding compensation, benefits, safety, health and wellness.
·Play an important role in key business meetings, including the annual Leadership Meeting and the President’s Circle of Excellence incentive trip for top performers.
·Lead the ADT Communications Champions team in strengthening the communications cascade and reinforcing two-way communication with the field.
·Establish tools for managers and Communications Champions to enhance the dissemination of information.
·Manage the internal crisis communications function.
·Provide counsel and support for communications initiatives from all areas of the business - Operations, Marketing, Sales, HR, Legal, Finance and IT.
Education / Work Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
• 10+ years of experience, with increasing responsibilities in a corporate communications role, preferably focused on internal and/or HR communications.
• Ideal candidate will have both in-house and agency communications experience.
• Must have executive presence and strong influencing skills.
• Excellent strategic thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and close communication gaps.
Solid project management experience and ability to lead and manage within a diverse organization
• Experience working in environment of significant change.
• Superior writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Outstanding project management skills.
• Superior time management abilities; ability to meet tight deadlines.
