The DDWLO is responsible for Earthbound Farm warehouse operational performance and customer service across enterprise comprised of several major manufacturing facilities. As a member of the Supply Chain Leadership Team, the DDWLO will provide strategic vision and tactical direction for Distribution, Warehouse, and Logistics, and People operations for assuring efficient space availability to support Enterprise demand, streamlined product bundles that supports improved order fill rates, understands 3rd party contracts and can educate to leverage for improved cost performance, and can influence the evolution of customer service for a competitive industry advantage.
The Director will partner closely across the organization and with other members corporate teams as well as the field Plant Managers in order to develop, implement, maintain, and improve warehouse operations and elevate customer service performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the efforts of the field Supply Chain warehouse teams, to include implementing strategies, objectives, and priorities; with the goal of optimizing the distribution, warehouse, logistics, and operations in terms of costs and efficiencies.
• Ensure tight linkage to the broader Supply Chain, enterprise and key customer priorities.
• Ensure that strong food safety considerations are built into key cross functional processes from forecasting (day’s supply) through on time customer delivery.
• Understand and be able to communicate to the organization heightened regulatory expectations for ambient and cold storage operations that may influence supply chain operations.
• Identify areas of performance opportunity and develop, simplify, and optimize warehouse and distribution programs across the enterprise.
• Leverage continuous improvement tools and industry best practices to make step function process improvements and alignment activities across the enterprise, as specifically related to warehouse and distribution optimization.
• Represent Warehousing/Distribution to the Supply Chain teams and serve as a conduit for information. Improve visibility to Warehouse performance and Supply Chain team needs.
• Transform data into meaningful information and define activities that will drive improvement in warehouse/distribution operations.
• Interact effectively at all levels within the organization and influence key stakeholders.
• Grow and develop plant warehouse talent by providing new competencies, coaching and training.
• Provide thought leadership within the broader warehouse and SC function
• Build and develop a delivery model that will meet the needs of Earthbound Farm for all operations.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelors in Supply Chain/Distribution/Logistics or Operations Management required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years Manufacturing/Distribution experience required, preferably in foods with emphasis on Warehousing (Ambient & Cold), Transportation and material handling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Food and beverage manufacturing background.
• Demonstrated process improvement and project management talent.
• Goal and results driven leader with MRP implementation experience
• Co-manufacturing experience a plus.
• Strong forecasting and inventory management experience with emphasis on customer service.
• Working SAP knowledge with demonstrated financial skills.
• Multiple/remote plant warehouse management experience
• Understanding of warehouse tasks that incorporates internal/external operations, put away and pick strategies, warehouse layout and design.
