Finance Director, Food Care - North America

This position will have four major priorities:
• Financial oversight and control of the Food Care Division in North America including analysis and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results as well as leading the process for creating monthly forecasts and an annual operating and strategic plan. Also, includes overall responsibility for ensuring that a strong internal control environment is maintained.
• Providing financial and business partnering support to the President – Food Care North America and members of the extended North American Leadership Team. In this capacity, the role will extend beyond the traditional boundaries of sales and marketing support and into other aspects of P&L and Balance Sheet management including but not limited to inventory and accounts receivable. The position also plays a key role in providing analysis and guidance to support planned capital expenditures, review potential acquisitions/divestitures and/or other potential strategic partnerships, and provide post investment analysis of previous expenditure or investments.
• Working collaboratively with the leadership teams of the Regional Supply Chain, Equipment, and R&D to help define and implement appropriate strategies, initiatives, and process improvements to ensure that Food Care North America is able to deliver committed improvements in revenue, EBITDA and cash flow, both in the current year and on a sustained basis into the future.
• Collaborating with the Global Food Care Finance Lead and other Finance Leadership Team members to identify and implement improved methods for cost effectively controlling, monitoring, and reporting on the Company’s financial results and supporting the decision making needs of the Company’s management teams at the Corporate, Division, Functional, and Regional levels.
Significant Accountabilities
Reporting and Analysis
• Coordinating preparation, and appropriately communicating, consolidated Regional financial results for monthly reporting, annual strategic planning, and updated monthly financial forecasts/estimates.
• Monthly income statement
• Product/Market line profitability
• Margin analysis
• Sales analysis including isolating impacts of price/volume/mix/exchange
• Customer profitability
• Working capital and cash flow use/generation
Business Partnering and Investment Support
• Assist the Regional Division Leadership Team to establish aggressive but achievable operating plans and monitor progress against existing plans/goals
• Provide analysis and guidance on capital investments, asset impairment reviews, and make-good analyses of actual versus expected business results
• Participate in evaluating and conducting due diligence of Regional Division acquisitions/divestitures and strategic relationships
• Oversee financial operations of the Division’s existing key strategic alliances, including Mullinix Packages Inc for solid barrier trays production.
Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Management
• Working in collaboration with the Global Supply Chain Team, identify and drive adoption of improved collaborative processes to plan, produce, monitor and control finished goods inventory required to support the Regional Food Care Division
Personnel and Organizational Development
• Continuously review and update key job descriptions and the overall organization structure for North America Food Care Finance to ensure that we effectively deploy resources, minimize redundancy, and maximize our business partnering capabilities.
• Provide effective feedback and career development support to direct reports and others within the Regional Division finance team
• Participate and help lead Global Finance Function initiatives and strategies within North America intended to reduce non-value added work and increase the ability of the function to provide an increased quantity and quality of business partnering and investment decision making support at all levels of the organization
• Embrace a culture of Lean & Continuous Improvement aimed at achieving measurable savings in efficiencies, leading towards a high performing organization focused on proactively adding value through timely and robust reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field required; CPA, CMA or other Chartered Credential preferred
• 10+ years finance experience, with FP&A and operational analysis strengths
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in working directly with senior management
• System proficiency including Hyperion and SAP
• Strong analytical skills including financial planning and working capital analysis
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles
• Effective, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative team player with team building skills
• Comfortable with driving change within the team and out to the organization
