Overview
The Director of Ecommerce Supply Chain will be accountable to build both the long term Supply Chain strategy and capabilities along with management of the daily operations. He/She will be accountable for assuring the growth plans of the channel are realized by leading the implementation of the capabilities needed and solving current and on-going issues that arise in operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads the overall strategy and multi-year capability build to enable the growth of the ecommerce channel.
Key point for solution identification for key issues and requirements of the ecommerce channel and .com customers.
Partners with planning team to identify and manage inventory targets including days of supply, aged and safety stock to maintain customer service levels.
Creates benchmarks, key performance indicators and metrics to measure for operational performance such as COGM, quality, safety, inventory turns and communicates results.
Advises on product demand initiatives with demand/forecasting team and proactively communicates any anticipated production capacity constraints.
Collaborates with Ecommerce team to lead forecast and inventory planning initiatives
Ensures success of Ecommerce specific packaging or new product commercialization launches by overseeing workflow among Finance, Ecommerce, R&D, Contract Manufacturing and Project Managers.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum ten years' experience managing production planning processes including inventory and supply planning, forecasting, demand planning, and sales and operational planning (S&OP). Has experience or acumen in ecommerce Supply Chain planning.
• Extensive experience with co-packers: contract negotiation and enforcement, systems design requirements for co-packers, inventory reporting and control, design of results reporting, audit and follow-up.
• Understanding of manufacturing environments and general operations
• Experience with logistics reporting and understanding of transportation and warehousing.
• Procurement: Understanding of PPV, variance reporting, control and use of key management metrics.
• Reporting: Must have expert knowledge of tracking actual performance and designing and enforcing a forecast system for all cost centers in this area of responsibility.
• Expert knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing and Enterprise Resource Planning software.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
• Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
• Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
• Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast paced environment.
