Director of Marketing directs the marketing and business strategy for the Residential, Light Commercial and Industrial Gas product lines with direct responsibility for product management, channel management, product promotion, pricing, and communications. This position has P&L responsibility for the combination of all assigned product lines and directs the development and implementation strategies related to retail/e-tail, distribution, dealer and wholesale channels for the assigned products so that the growth and profit objectives of the strategic plan are successful
Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop, communicate and implement short and long-range business plans to drive profitable growth for the business.
• Manage the product management effort and Multi-Generational Product Plan to introduce new or improved products, perform cost analysis, and provide P & L projections to justify recommendations for the Residential/Light Commercial and Industrial Gas product lines.
• Build and manage Marketing programs for demand and lead generation. Follow-up and develop processes for lead tracking and management to increase sales and conversion rates
• Direct competitive analysis studies and prepare product and marketing information that supports the strategic plan.
• Communicate with customers to determine new market potential and pricing necessary to expand market penetration.
• Coordinate the budget for trade shows, conventions, and meetings to match the marketing strategies.
• Develop multi-media advertising and promotional programs designed to support and penetrate existing markets as well as new product introductions.
• Maintain continual liaison with Corporate Advertising and Promotional Services in the preparation of advertising campaigns, promotional programs and website strategy and design in alignment with brand strategy to ensure they are consistent with the Marketing Plan.
Skills/Requirements
• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing or related field is required. MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in management with demonstrated P&L and strategic planning responsibility.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in Marketing for consumer standby power or related industry is preferred.
• Must possess a keen analytical mind, be strong on planning, detail-oriented and be a demonstrably creative thinker.
• Must possess substantial skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.
• Ability to travel 30% of time.
