Director of Product Development - Direct Consumer Solutions
Dynamics of the Role:
TransUnion is seeking a Director of Product Development to lead the development and management of industry-leading online consumer-focused credit monitoring and identity protection solutions. The right candidate is equal parts product champion and detail-obsessed product builder. This will be an active role in the day-to-day operations as well as driving the long-term vision for the product. The Director of Product Development will contribute to the business strategy and will execute on a product roadmap to differentiate TransUnion from the competition.
The Team’s Focus:
TransUnion Consumer Interactive creates web-based financial products that help consumers manage their credit, identity and money. Our product suite includes TransUnion Credit Monitoring and ID Theft Protection—products that help our customers monitor critical changes in their credit by assisting them with debt analysis, identity theft protection features, and money management tools. We have an entrepreneurial “start-up” environment but with resources and support of a large company. We’ve had continued year-to-year growth and a history of successful product launches.
How You’ll Contribute:
• Enhance and champion the product vision and strategy for the direct-to-consumer product family. Manage and deliver against the product roadmap
• Specify, prioritize, and communicate high level requirements with key partners across multiple functions (e.g., technology, operations, marketing, etc.)
• Identify product and feature success metrics and measure and monitor performance to prioritize future development and identify new product opportunities
• Base your strategic decisions through a defensible metrics driven approach
• Engage frequently with stakeholders, vendor and project management during implementation
• Define, track, report, and improve key product metrics
• Serve as primary representative for product team and internal stakeholders, articulate data analytics to drive value to business partners
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal person must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, detailed-oriented, and should take pride in delivering a quality experience for our customers. To be successful, it is essential to have a relentless focus on managing product economics as well as product health and quality. Qualified candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills while working closely with business partners, TransUnion account managers, project managers, product analysts, and developers in a dynamic agile environment.
• Minimum of 12 years of Product and/or Project Management experience preferably with consumer-focused web-based products (consumer credit or financial services products preferred)
• Strong consumer product P&L management experience required
• Acute focus on consumer experience and proven ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Experience in writing and communicating product visions, business cases and high-level requirements.
• Strong business acumen as well as quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
• Must have critical thinking skills to quickly make and measure decisions
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and leverage relationships at all levels across the company and with business partners.
