SCOPE OF POSITION:
An Associate Food Scientist to perform food product development work to meet established project objectives in the R&D Brand and Margin Enhancement (BME) team supporting the Dry businesses. This position will report into the Director Product Development.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned
• Executes tests using recognized procedures
• Learns and utilizes online specification system
• Maintains accurate and complete records, analyzes reports
• Obtains a working knowledge of plant processes and facilities
• Provides onsite monitoring and technical assistance to operations when testing/manufacturing new products
• Follow directions of the supervisor, asking pertinent questions to provide a learning experience
• Evaluate products within the portfolio containing but not limited to wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts and meat
Qualifications
CAPABILITIES:
• Demonstrated technical competence
• Demonstrated motivation and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to interact with others in manufacturing, lab and office environment
SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:
• Strong technical/analytical skills
• Good time management and multitasking skills
• Computer skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 1-2 years food product development experience is required
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and equipment preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EDUCATION:
B.S. Food Science or equivalent
TRAVEL:
25-40%
