Job Description
Position Summary:
This career opportunity is with Sealed Air’s Digital and Innovation Team. This globally focused position will work with divisions and Digital & Innovation organization to uncover market opportunities for Digital and Internet of Things solutions. This leader will be accountable for identifying strategic market opportunities, building relationships with current and new customer segments, and leading a front-end innovation team to establish business cases for a strategic portfolio of digital solutions. In addition to leading the customer and market-facing interaction alongside division marketing leads, this leader will manage a group of innovation professionals with diverse backgrounds in technology and innovation, systems, business development, and sales and strategic marketing.
We are looking for highly motivated and accomplished individual with prior experience in driving business development and innovation for digital and Internet of Things projects. Additionally, candidates must thrive in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment. The selected individual will join the Digital and Innovation Team with a broad and deep range of experience across marketing, business and technology solution areas. The position is based out of our Global HQ in Charlotte NC, USA.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Executive Director of Digital Business Development & Innovation will work with multi-functional teams globally to build customer and market relationships that drive growth of Digital solutions portfolio in the market. Position will manage innovation team that is responsible for early business case development, as well as discovery and framing of unique Digital opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop strategic plan that identifies specific customer targets, market opportunities, potential value and growth, well defined value proposition of potential Digital solutions to that market, and executable plan to success.
• Communication and coordination of strategic plans and customer/ innovation initiatives across functions and divisions throughout the organization.
• Prepare key account strategy and conduct negotiations as solutions are brought to market with key customers/targets.
• Assume business management role at key/targeted accounts with significant travel and customer contact expected.
• Implement sales of solution portfolio as it matures at targeted accounts and at budgeted levels.
• Monitor competitive activity, with support of market research leader, and develop appropriate tactics.
• Lead business case development and manage innovation team that will drive discovery and framing for specific customer opportunities.
• Work with innovation team to brainstorm solutions for identified market needs; provide divergent thinking, synthesis and other processes to translate market/ customer information into a high number of potential responses and then funnel responses against a defined set of criteria until valuable opportunities emerge.
• Provide leadership and team development; identify talent gaps and build organizational capability to for business development and innovation of Digital solutions.
• Serve as change agent in support of SEE’s goal of becoming a knowledge-based company, and drive necessary changes in business model development and culture to bring Digital solutions and services to market.
Role Demands
• Experience in the field of Digital and Internet of Things solutions
• Entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and comfortable adapting communications to the appropriate audience (eg: executive leadership, product developers, etc.)
• Polished verbal and written communication style. Ability to confidently build a strong rapport with different teams. Good networking skills to work across different multi-cultural teams towards focused goal. Comfortable in interacting with and presenting to executives and senior business leaders
• Self-starter attitude – must be able to drive individual as well as team goals. Able to effectively deal well with ambiguity in a professional environment. Qualified candidates will understand how to produce results when working in challenging environments and/or new business areas
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• BS/BA in computer science, engineering or a related technology field, MS preferred
• 12+ years experience working in a digital, IoT and IT environment
• 4+ years of relevant experience in digital solutions development
• Proven abilities in market analysis, expedient decision making and successful leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven experience in business development of unique, innovative customer solutions. Prefer experience in working with large, international industrial or consumer goods companies.
• Good understanding of business value and capabilities and ability to relate priorities to associated technology investments
• Successful in understanding strategy, positioning, market development and building relationships
• Strong background in software and hardware development, and associated business models for commercializing digital solutions
