General Summary:
A highly visible supply chain role that is accountable for the development, implementation and on-going management of the inventory planning and procurement functions. This position requires a strategic thought leader responsible for development of global inventory strategies, planning process development and inventory planning software configuration. This hands-on professional is responsible for developing and executing supply & production plans to enable to meet sales and service objectives. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, and customer support teams is paramount to achieve these sales and service objectives.
Key Responsibilites:
• Lead the organization in the centralization of strategic sourcing, procurement and supplier management activities from a broadly decentralized model today.
• Drive increased value of existing sourcing and procurement practices through strong cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Accountable for leading strategic sourcing and procurement.
• Devise and implement high-impact cost reduction solutions (process, policy, technology, organization) the drive sustainable cost reduction initiatives (both rate and consumption / demand focus)
• Devise and implement supplier management programs for critical suppliers / categories that drive innovation, supplier development, supplier risk management, supplier performance management and contract compliance activities.
• Establish strong partnerships and relevant business alignment across existing business channels including: Retail, Grocery, Club, Mass, E-commerce, Wholesale, and Foodservice channels to deliver maximum value.
• Attract, build and motivate a team with deep relevant category and leading-practice sourcing and procurement expertise
• Achieve continuing performance improvement in key sourcing and procurement metrics, including: customer satisfaction / net promoter score, cost savings / avoidance, procurement ROI, cycle time, cost per transaction, spend under management and supplier risk
• Accountable for inventory availability within agreed forecast variance tolerances.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree or higher required
• 8+ years of prior strategic sourcing (vendor selection, negotiation planning and execution, contracting), procurement (transactional purchasing – PR to PO cycle) and supplier management (performance, risk, innovation, contract compliance / audit)
• 8+ years of experience in demand forecasting, supply chain planning, replenishment and inventory management ideally in the food and beverage industry for shelf stable, shelf like constrained and refrigerated products
• Prior successful experience establishing a centralized sourcing, procurement, forecasting and planning organization from a decentralized organization with a minimum of $100M of addressable spend annually
• Prior experience in establishing demand forecasting, supply chain planning and S&OP processes in multi-channel retail organizations
• Prior Direct and Indirect sourcing and procurement experience
• Prior Retail, CPG and E-commerce experience, ideally in the Food & Beverage industry
• Prior successful experience supporting multiple business functions for a portfolio organization as the senior procurement / sourcing / supply chain planning executive
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in team development and thought leadership.
• Demonstrated innovative problem solving and partnering skills
• History of leading significant change within small-sized organizations on a fast growth trajectory

• Demonstrated superior analytical abilities, excel modeling , statistical analysis and problem solving skills
• Superb organizational acumen and project management skills
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence without authority
• Ability to see the big picture, analyze the details and know when either approach is most appropriate
Technical Skills:
• Experience using JDA, SAP or other ERP statistical software packages, inclusive of MRP suite
• Extensive Excel analysis and strong mathematical abilities
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
• Must be a person of high integrity, commitment, and possess a strong work ethic
• Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere
• Highly organized, accurate, and detail oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with users effectively
