SUMMARY:
This position will build and manage support functions and personnel essential to optimizing productivity within the American Liberty Division. The role includes providing leadership for key strategic business processes including supplier planning, supplier marketing & programming, pricing, commercial finance, inventory management, forecasting and analytics. The position works closely with the commercial sales leads to drive the business forward.
Position Responsibilities:
• Manage implementation of common decision-making approaches and standard KPI’s, including quarterly business reviews frameworks, across divisions. Develop best in class sales practices across the divisions with the implementation of processes and tools
• Ensure adequate inventory for all sales programs is available for teams to sell to budget expectation. Example but not limited to: Close of quarter, half and fiscal year for core brands, small size programs, innovation and new item launches, craft and emerging brands with little sales history, high marque programs
• Captain sales force implementation of new product roll-outs in tight coordination with sales, finance and marketing. Provide viewpoints on consumer and/or brand opportunities based on thorough awareness of marketplace trends
• Ensure common practices across division and adherence to timelines during budget, this is to include but not limited to: planning, forecasting reporting, etc.
• Communicate best practices across all Sales Divisions
• Proactively participates in activities/projects that involve change
• Translates objectives and plans into effective tactical actions
• Continually expands internal relationships to include additional key partners. Begins to build external relationships
• Develops an efficient and influencing network, allowing to leverage critical data / knowledge for the benefit of the business
• Identifies key trends and evolutions which could impact our way of doing business and makes recommendations accordingly
• Knows supplier brands and categories positioning in the local market
• Consolidates budgets and optimizes resource allocation (financial, workforce, promotions investment) based on ROI analysis
• Breaks down numerous and complex data, and frames it into clear insights
• Defines sophisticated action plans based on in-depth analysis, considering both the short and long-term impact of options
• Builds and optimizes planning / scheduling tools and standards and recommend new ones to better track the activities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in a Business related field
• At least 5 years sales management experience in a related industry
• Experience in developing complex Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
• Strong understanding of Computer Information systems
• Advanced level of analytical skills and ability to use internal systems and syndicated data sources
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Independent discretion and judgment.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Attention to detail with a strong desire to deliver value-added support to external and internal clients.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects with strong task management experience
Preferred Characteristics/Credentials:
• MBA preferred
• Wine/ Industry knowledge to include basic understanding of distribution, wine varietals and leading spirit categories.
• Working knowledge of Nielson, Business Objects, Diver and Sales Nav systems
