The Company
Nerium International has established a direct sales business model to provide their products to customers around the globe via thousands of direct sales Brand Partners which is part of the aggressive growth and success since its founding in 2011. Nerium is positioned for continued growth both domestically and internationally. Nerium is based in Dallas, Texas with the basic functional areas including a call center in the corporate office. We also have entities established in Mexico (2014), Canada (2014), Korea (2015), Japan and Australia (2016), Colombia and Hong Kong (2017).
The Position
Nerium International, LLC, a relationship marketing-based skincare company, in Addison (Dallas), TX is seeking a Director, Product Development
Specific Accountabilities/Essential Functions of Position
• The Director of Product Development will be responsible for delivering and managing the global product portfolio from concept to delivery. The role will oversee the product development functions, ensuring cross-functional collaboration across Product Development, R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to ensure the delivery of successful, qualitative products on time.
• Responsible for the management of the external labs, manufacturers, as well as internal cross functional teams to meet key milestones and launch products on time to meet the organizational objectives.
• Spearheads high revenue new product launch programs, as well as reformulations on a global level from creation of Product Briefs that align with organizational objectives all the way to delivery. Ensures timely, qualitative and successful product launches.
• Manages multiple projects concurrently, while being agile in a fast pace environment
• Responsible to interact directly with contract manufacturers and formulators to track projects and drive progress during all steps of development
• Upholds a clear understanding of the product development process and resolving obstacles proactively.
• Establishes and drives product development plans, timelines and objectives. Tracks, presents out on and measures progress to makes sure that key milestones are met by internal teams and external labs and manufacturer management.
• Presents out to Sr executives and leadership on new product launches and status updates for decisions and approvals.
• Establishes benchmarks, works closely with internal R&D team and external labs to deliver on product objectives, understands issues, trends, technologies and reviews product submissions, providing feedback/direction/redirects, establishing user testing, and approves initial formulas.
• Sources initial primary packaging, ingredients, textures, and innovation and gathers preliminary COGs for each product launch for formula and packaging approvals.
• Works with International markets to create product launch timelines and requirements
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, emphasis in Science or Business preferred
• 3+ Years’ Experience in Product Development
• Project Management Experience
• Experience in personal care, wellness or nutrition industry preferred
• Experience in direct sales preferred
• Packaging and/or Manufacturing experience preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Ability to work with team members in multiple departments effectively and efficiently
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
