The Director of Logistics is a key position within Supply Chain. The role has responsibility for order execution and delivery across North America, ensuring that the right product gets to the Customer at the right time for all of Henkel’s consumer goods business units (Laundry & Home Care and Beauty-Retail). The role is required to bring strategic oversight to the warehouse operation function; ensuring the optimum network logistics solution from ‘source to delivery’, in order to support the route-to-market. Effective operational management is required to balance service, cost and capability and to ensure sustained high performance levels.
The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective management, interacting with Commercial, Finance, Purchasing and other Supply Chain functions to identify and meet business requirements. The role also works closely with other Henkel Global partners to ensure end-to-end supply chain execution and customer satisfaction. Externally the role is responsible for the operational management of third party logistics vendors and other Stakeholders necessary to perform and deliver the requirements of the role. Most importantly, the role is customer facing and is accountable for customer satisfaction, inclusive of representing Henkel Supply Chain in collaborative relationships with strategic customers.

• Accountable for the North American regional distribution and timely processing of customer orders.
• Responsible for the creating the annual financial plan and reconciling the monthly financial performance to identify the cost drivers and business impacts. Includes formulating proposals and recommending strategic alternatives to maintain high service levels which lowering total delivered costs.
• Work with BU’s and Financial Control Teams to align annual Warehouse cost and quality goals with market and strategic expectations.
• Lead the NA Warehousing Team with responsibility for career development and, goal setting, and performance management.
• Align Warehousing Team to the Strategic direction of the organization while also driving improvement to key business indicators through identification and leadership of projects.
• Develop annual targets for warehousing spend.
• Ensure coordination of activities across regions and businesses to gain leverage on cost and best practices as they relate to warehousing spend, payment, and carrier management within the distribution centers.
• Interface with IT to develop tools for reporting and automation.
• Lead Logistics Team in implementation and application of best practices in coordination with other key functional groups (Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, etc.).
• By the numbers: 9 Distribution Centers in NA / $90MM annual budget
Who we are looking for
• 10+ Years experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• 4 year College Degree in Business or Engineering Field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• Must have relevant distribution center operations experience, ensuring credible foundation to drive performance results and process improvements with 3PL service partners.
• Critical thinker who can clearly and concisely communicate and influence using facts and logic.
• Customer centric leader capable of establishing direct, collaborative relationships with strategic retail trade partners and implementing the defined strategic initiatives to improve the regional distribution and logistics performance.
• Intellectually curious, natural leader with the empathy to grow and develop a high performing team and the self-confidence to influence with conviction and passion.
• Proven track record of quantifiable cost saving initiatives in both distribution and transportation.
