Position Description
GfK MRI is the leading producer of media and consumer research in the United States. Our Survey of the American Consumer is the industry standard for magazine audience ratings in the U.S., and is used in the majority of media and marketing plans in the country. It’s thirty plus years of trending data is a powerful source for predictive modeling as well as a valuable data source of offline information (psychographics, leisure activities, drivers to behaviors) in the digital sphere.
The Director, Client Applications will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle of proprietary client facing applications. This position will also include maintenance of existing products and will play an instrumental role in developing the next version of MRI’s data analytics platform transforming it from a desktop application to a web based application in a cloud hosted architecture.
Essential Duties and Responsibility
Specific Responsibilities include:
• Maintain and update existing applications and tools.
• Develop distributed API interface for next generation of data analytics platform.
• Develop User Interfaces for client facing deliverables.
• Develop both automated and manual test plans for application builds
• Produce technical documentation
• Stay apprised of competitive landscape in market technology and reporting capabilities
• Keep up to date with latest development techniques.
• Evaluate third party APIs, controls and services that can help development function.
Requirements
Experience and Skill:
• 7-10+ years of experience as a lead developer for an enterprise application
• Advanced understanding of .Net framework and programming languages C++ and C#
• Knowledge and experience designing and developing RESTFUL Web Services
• Advanced understanding of MVC development model
• Extensive experience developing web applications interfaces
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular, NodeJS, React and/or equivalent languages
• 7+ years of experience working as a developer on desktop or web applications
• Solid understanding of responsive design principals
• Experience developing UI leveraging database technologies for on backend
• Experience with workflow software like TFS or Jira
• Ability to absorb and adapt to existing complex proprietary technologies
• Proactive employee who has well developed goal management and prioritization skills
• Experience with data analytics and reporting software is preferable
• Strong technical background especially with a focus on testing and troubleshooting software applications
• Ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical personnel
Education
BA/BA or equivalent, Masters preferred
