JOB SUMMARY:
The VP, Director of Business Development takes a leadership role in growing Integer Dallas’ roster of clients by establishing a business development plan with targeted categories and brands, by working with lead sources to identify, evaluate and elevate business opportunities (both new clients and organic); by directing and managing the new business process in the agency from RFI to final presentation; and by being responsible for marketing the agency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Building
• Creates a business development plan that is consistent with the agency’s core strengths and capabilities and that is in keeping with the Dallas office’s role in the Integer network
• Ensures that a coordinated effort exists with network business development director(s) and other marketing staff, including public relations from Integer corporate, other Integer offices, Omnicom and other Omnicom-owned agencies
• Provides leadership within the agency to effectively and efficiently manage each stage of the new business process: leads development activities, lead acceptance, RFI/RFP response, client meetings and presentations; ensures that all work and all contact with potential clients reflects the culture and mission of the agency and meets the highest standards for professionalism
• Takes advantage of inside and outside agency resources to develop business-winning programs and presentations; establishes strategic platforms to drive innovative thinking and ideas
• Establishes Integer performance standards for all phases of the new business process and ensures that these standards are maintained by all who participate; ensures that schedules are set, meetings are organized and productive, innovative thinking and brainstorming activities are strategically led; ensures that background materials, secondary research and other information is prepared and available; oversees primary research, videotaping and other support tools required to support the strategy and/or solutions recommended; is responsible for the timing, quality of materials, type and manner of presentations, rehearsals, etc.
• Participates in establishing budgets to support agency marketing; maintains appropriate fiscal management of Agency investment to potential in revenue for each new business effort
• Is proactive in developing opportunities to market the agency, its capabilities, accomplishments and people to potential clients, the trade, current clients, and influencers
• Is responsible for press relations; coordinates public relations activities with corporate, as appropriate
• Takes the lead on certain account relationships, as appropriate and as necessary, and provides the highest level of account leadership expected by the Agency and the client
Agency Leadership
• Works with Integer Dallas leadership to ensure that appropriate staff participate in each new business opportunity; ensures an efficient and productive use of their time and effort
• Establishes a thorough working knowledge of the capabilities, skills and other resources available to support business development within the Agency, the network and outside the network
• Seeks new and better ways to enhance the process and the product and to best position Integer to win; develops and maintains a resource library for all aspects of the business development process; initiates a post-pitch evaluation
• Works with others on the management team to ensure smooth transition of new client into Agency structure, staffing and processes
• Establishes partnerships throughout the Agency and with appropriate new business and public relations people in other agencies; maintains a professional and mature decorum in all internal and client communications and meetings
Internal and Network Initiative
• Takes an active role in Agency activities; contributes to, participates actively in and supports all agency programs and cultural initiatives, including training, performance reviews, account reviews, scheduled meetings, events, etc.
• Participates in Integer network and Omnicom network programs as appropriate and ensures a positive image for the Agency and the network
• Works with Agency management to establish personal initiative(s) that will lead to the overall betterment of the Agency and/or its people

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 8+ years management experience preferred. Agency and specific product/service experience highly desired.
• Able to write all forms of required business communication, including memos, reports, letters, e-mail messages, and client and new-business presentations.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, interest, commissions and proportions, and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
