PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
The Platform group at GTB is responsible for architecting and enabling solutions that exist at the intersection of technology, data, and marketing. We view technology not merely as a tool, but as an enabler of a brand’s essence. Whether advertising campaigns, brand experiences, or innovative products, we build solutions that properly blend design, technology, and strategy.
As a part of the Partnership team in Platform, the Group Director will be responsible for proactively translating emerging trends and technologies into our existing disciplines more rapidly and effectively and fully realizing the potential that is possible with 3rd party partners across all disciplines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Identify strategic partnership opportunities across the digital ecosystem
◦ Generate more value from existing media, production and technology spends
◦ Create opportunities with emerging suppliers in alignment with Practices strategies
◦ Identify and establish POVs regarding emerging trends and industry topics
• Establish engagement frameworks with partners and drive accountability and delivery
◦ Work with Practice leads to establish priorities and learning agendas
◦ Facilitate the development of ideas and initiatives between Practices and partners
◦ Ensure alignment across Practices to maximize effectiveness and opportunities
◦ Drive accountability across Practices and partners to deliver on initiatives
• Drive administrative and operational support for partnership engagements
◦ Define commercial terms, negotiate pricing, and facilitate contractual process with appropriate entities across GTB, WPP and clients
• Responsible for creation and implementation of digital ad platform strategy, including but not limited to, ad serving, audience management (DMP), buying platforms (display, video, paid search, social)
• Lead platform evaluations and RFPs
• Oversee data partnerships (Datalogix/Polk, 3rd party sites, etc.)
• Oversee strategic ad partnerships, including but not limited to Joint Business Plan partners (Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon)
• Manage team focused on digital/emerging media strategy and executions
• Provide thought leadership and senior client guidance on digital marketing platform technologies
• Represent GTB thought leadership within industry
• Liaise with GTB leadership across Analytics, Connections (Media) etc. to ensure cohesion in approach to digital marketing technology
• Maintain and support all company standards as specified within the Quality Management System.
• Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to ISO9001 requirements, processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Digital media buying/planning
• Fluency in ad technology concepts and marketplace knowledge
• Ad serving (experience trafficking ads)
• Fluency in 3rd party data ecosystem including companies, technology, and collection methodologies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years direct experience in digital marketing (media, technology, ad ops, etc.)
• 5+ years direct experience in digital media planning/buying
• 5+ years direct experience with ad technologies including ad servers, buying platforms, data management platforms
• 5+ years working with 3rd party research vendors such as Milward Brown, Nielsen, ComScore
• Understanding of database design/architecture, website content management, and dynamic creative technologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities.
