Description
Edelman financial communications & capital markets is a boutique strategic consultancy with the reach and resources of the world’s largest public relations firm. We advise public and private companies on strategic and capital markets communications to help effectively position them with the financial community during transformative events as well as during normal-course business. This role is responsible for working closely with leadership to create and implement the marketing vision and strategy for the Financial Communications & Capital Markets group both internally and externally. He will report directly to the General Manager of the group and liaise with an extended network of contacts globally.
Responsibilities include:
Conferences/Events (Internal)
• Organize periodic in-person leadership meetings or other events, managing agenda, content, logistics and other aspects
Conferences/Events (External)
• Secure and organize speaking/presentation opportunities for FinComms leadership, managing content, logistics and follow-up opportunities
• Devise and organize regular events with special guest speakers
Mailings/Content/Referrals
• Create dynamic, inventive thought leadership and content to proactively reach clients and prospects
• Build and maintain group’s CRM (by subsector)
Materials/Decks
• Create and oversee subsector-specific content (cases, capes, slides) and connect teams with necessary resources
• Maintain and ensure consistency in generalized capabilities materials and subsector credentials
• Support new business activities, liaising with creative, design, research and other departments/practices to potentially shape responses to RFIs/RFPs and other bespoke decks, as necessary
Digital Thought Leadership
• Organize, plan and schedule group’s digital thought leadership (written, video or other creative) on edelman.com
• Push thought-leadership across internal channels (Workplace, ELI)
Budgeting/Asset Allocation
• Oversee monthly P&L and budgeting process, ongoing operating budget, helping group stay within assigned budget and use tools to maintain proper financial processes
• Oversee and support group in annual strategic and budget planning process
• Work with financial manager, quality team and others to analyze and report performance data
Bridge to Other Offices
• Maintain strong internal relationships across the network; drive best practice sharing across group; serve as resource to local/regional teams
• Identify new/existing tools, products, capabilities, thought leadership and methodologies within the agency to be shared and scaled broadly
Operations
• Develop, implement and continuously improve group processes
• Manage all internal reporting for group, working with regional and local counterparts to gather input
• Develop solutions to a wide variety of problems, including those in program management, internal communications and balancing organizational needs
