SUMMARY: LEADING OUR CLIENTS INTO THE FUTURE
The Associate Media Director’s role is a leadership role as well as a managerial one. The AMD sets the working style for the group, leads the strategic direction and is tasked with being a marketing partner for the clients. They are being primed a Director position, and thus should strive to be the ‘expert’ on the clients’ business, a leader within the agency and liaison between senior management and junior team members. They are also responsible for demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the media space across all channels (including digital media) and can easily identify strategic use cases. From an interpersonal standpoint, they can navigate the balance between client service and fostering a positive and productive team culture.

Current: displays some passion for pop culture, trends and motivations in consumer behavior
Delegation skills- there’s a lot here. Managing this work takes a team clicking on all cylinders.
Inspires creativity in others/foster an open environment for ideas: challenge the team to solve clients challenges in unique ways- let them try (and fail where necessary)
Hunger for using data: to define strategies, to defend strategies, to uncover new targeting opportunities, to buy more efficiently, to better understand the outcomes we drive for clients.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED: TRACK RECORD OF LEADERSHIP
• Client service experience
• Understanding of key research sources
• Proven leadership ability – experience managing a team of planners & supervisors
• Knowledge of current trends and innovations in media
• Comfort level with data, analytics and measurement
• Experience managing a team and day to day deliverables
• Can foster and grow talent
• Excels at media fundamentals and can educate all levels
