We Are Seeking:
Our New York office is looking for a Senior Vice President – Consumer Media, who is seasoned in lifestyle, food & beverage and entertainment media relations. This position will have ownership of media strategy and execution for our clients, as well as supervisory responsibility for team members. This includes building strategic media programs aligned with our client’s goals and working directly with consumer, industry and business media on a daily basis.
What You Will Be Doing
• Partnering with client experience team to define, present and guide media strategy for client programs e.g., campaign launches, product launches, product recalls, industry and corporate announcements
• Co-lead of a large, media results-driven account team
• Crafting and telling compelling stories to secure national media attention, and integration with digital/social/paid efforts to provide holistic integrated media counsel
• Develop overarching and tactical earned media strategies for account, including campaign activations, executive visibility, thought leadership and ongoing efforts
• Generate long-term plans and program recommendations for clients and oversee and play active part in execution
• Help generate creative and integrated ideas and opportunities, as part of planning
• Maintain daily client contact for all media executions
• Seasoned brand interagency team planning and execution experience
• Driving the team’s media efforts day-in and out to ensure ongoing brand inclusion outside of campaign tentpoles
• Develop KPI measurement strategy for campaigns and deliver on them
• Ability to multitask on a fast-paced account, providing one-off media POVs to clients’ in a timely manner
• Bringing a client-focused attitude that results in work being performed to the highest quality standards
• Proven aptitude to solve problems, handle crises, and make quick decisions with incomplete information
• Account for quality control and review of client correspondence, proposals, press materials, messaging Q&As, etc.
• Must be proactive and flexible, a “roll up your sleeves and get it done” team player able to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities
• Acting as an inspiring leader who supervises and develops staff members
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to craft strategy for new business presentations
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Senior consumer media strategist spanning 12+ years – agency experience required. Experience in other verticals such as corporate, social impact, a bonus but not required
• BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
