Weber Shandwick Seattle is seeking a Vice President to lead one of our most innovative and forward-thinking technology accounts. The ideal candidate has extensive tech communications experience and will lead integrated communications work for clients. The candidate must maintain a thorough understanding of our client's products and industry, and translate that knowledge into effective communications strategies and activation plans. This role demands a results-oriented and innovative thinker able to develop and own integrated storytelling across digital, owned, earned, social and paid channels. The candidate must be a collaborator, a proactive and critical thinker, comfortable leading client teams, and capable of managing a dedicated account team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as key client point of contact and oversee day-to-day operations of integrated team on programs
• Consult and develop integrated strategic programs including content marketing, social media strategy, event activations, public relations, etc.
• Drive development of solution-based program strategies and direct development of tactical plans
• Review, direct and actively shape work to ensure all tactics and creative are on strategy, on budget, and delivered with high quality
• Proactive about developing ideas across owned, earned and paid channels
• Contribute to content development strategy (press materials, FAQs, bylined articles, social content and blogs, etc.)
• Be responsible for client financials and profitability
• Address any issues, troubleshoot problems and provide strategic counsel
Team Management:
• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to account team
• Develop and coach account team for peak performance
• Work with peers to further the mission, goals and culture of the agency
• Mentor individuals so that they are able to achieve their professional goals
• Ensure quality work from team in order to meet/exceed client expectations
• Attend account reviews and staff meetings - provide ongoing communications and feedback
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience driving integrated technology communications strategies – either at a digital marketing agency, PR agency or consulting firm, or within a dynamic in-house communications function.
• Strong writing, project management and organizational skills; and ability to multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality
• Significant experience developing and implementing integrated account strategies and programs that leverage paid, earned, shared and owned media.
• Experience leading accounts in (or a personal passion for) technology, aerospace or aviation industries
• A proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
• An entrepreneurial spirit; a leader and driver of teams and programs.
