Gain Theory – Director
Responsibilities
Strategy
• Understands clients’ evolving business goals
• Brings together necessary resources for strategy and goal establishment
• Contributes to development of strategy and execution planning in collaboration with senior management
• Oversees implementation of project strategies by team members
• Reviews client goals, strategy, and metrics of success
• Masters knowledge of clients’ business, competition, and latest industry news and trends
• Generates client strategy success stories and challenges; and disseminating knowledge with other teams
Team Leadership
• Leadership of a dedicated team of marketing analysts, modelers and data architects
• Shapes team's structure, delivery processes, ownership and accountability frameworks
• Ensures timely delivery of quality work from multi-functional team members;
• Champions teamwork and drives motivation
• Participates in the development, mentoring, and retention of staff members under their management
• Shares learnings with team and discuss potential impact on client programs
• Provides input for staff performance reviews
• Resolves team challenges
• Reviews outputs, shapes priority analysis and recommendations, submits to client for review
Business operations
• Actively leads company initiatives, processes, and roll-outs
Project Management
• Seasoned project manager, capable of setting and managing timelines, and managing delivery expectations with client and senior management appropriately
• Oversees multiple complex analytics workflows and maintains focus on the tasks at hand
• Establish project metrics and KPIs
• Works with Managers and analuts to develop project plans, and ensure the team is delivering on schedule
• Task planning master; organizing priority deliverables and related sub-tasks; delegating appropriately
• Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Trello, Tempo) a plus
• Monitoring and reporting on progress of projects; flagging risks appropriately
• Agile thinker; open and responsive to change at short notice
Financial
• Capable of creating and negotiating scopes of work
• Ensures all necessary agreements and paperwork are in place for all client projects
• Audits estimated vs. actual hours on all client projects to ensure that all projects are being serviced at the same level they are being billed
Client Interaction
• Deliver project analysis and strategy recommendations per projecs
• Manage client relationships and constantly seek opportunities to enhance the client's marketing effectiveness
• Translates advanced analytics outputs appropriately for client meetings
• Works with clients to uncover business needs, identifies areas of opportunity to increase project growth
• Organizes and leads in-person client meetings and conference calls, while incorporating staff where needed
• Creates and delivers presentations and decks that specifically address client and agency expectations
• Negotiates and resolves client, agency, and vendor conflicts
Analytics
• Oversee and enhance advanced analytics project work in line with client deliverables and emerging decision support requirements
• Evaluate clients’ budget and work to ensure maximum allocation efficiency
• Deep familiarity with a wide range of advanced analytics project types and benefits in the marketing arena
• Keen interest in analytics innovation grounded in practical client needs
• Support Managers of advanced analytics and data architects to deliver quality outputs
• Create structure for reporting and presentations to be delivered to clients; ensuring outputs are logical and actionable
• Present results in client meetings; ensuring consumer centric thinking and media and marketing understanding
• Ensure recommendations are grounded in clients’ business needs and expectations
• Familiarity with underlying statistical modeling theory - multivariate regression analysis, Bayesian modeling, forecasting, machine learning
• Familiarity with databases and data processing methodologies/technology
• A passion for effective data visualization to tell effective stories via data visuals
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years related work experience
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members
• Client relationship management expertise
• Decision making capabilities
• Solid background in processing and analyzing information using statistical and econometric modeling
• Primary research with digital and traditional experience
• Experience in gathering insights from data, and making informed decisions
• Understanding of industry research sources, such as Nielsen/IRI sales data or TV/online advertising data
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• SPSS and SAS as well as Database tools (Access, Oracle, SQL) experience is highly preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of metrics: Media (e.g. buying models, CPV, GRP), Measurement analytics, Quantitative business measures (LTV, NPV, ROI, Churn, etc.), Statistics (Correlations, sample sizing, etc)
• Excellent problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills
• Knowledge of visual techniques for data analysis and presentation
• High attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and team player
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and take initiative on assigned tasks and beyond
