Overview
We have an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to leave their mark and help scale up a booming programmatic practice within one of the nation’s top digitally-centric agencies. We built our programmatic practice 4+ years ago on the premise of keeping programmatic close to our clients, having a transparent business model, and being technology & publisher agnostic. We’re looking for someone who shares our core values and wants to be a part of a team that’s leading the way in programmatic thinking and execution. The role is great for someone who has deep understanding of programmatic but wants to get into a more managerial/senior role.
The Director will oversee all accounts, partner with executive level clients, lead and manage a team of ~15 across multiple offices, collaborate closely with VP of Programmatic on strategic direction internally and externally, maintain and foster steady growth, and curate a culture.
The ideal candidate should have strong general problem-solving skills to deal with new challenges as they arise, possess a passion to be a programmatic evangelist, have excellent communication skills to impart critical information to a broad audience, and enjoy working within a fast-paced environment. This person must demonstrate expert knowledge of the entire programmatic ecosystem - RTB, PMPs, DSPs, SSPs/ ad exchanges, and 3rd party data providers.
Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain solid relationships with both Media & Account teams
• Evangelize the benefits of running campaigns through internal programmatic team to all key stakeholders, including new hire boot camps
• Guide programmatic team on how to best solve problems and overcome obstacles
• Codify and share best practices and standard operating procedures
• Develop education and capabilities material for helping convey val prop of the programmatic practice
• Lead weekly account review meetings
• Conduct weekly status meetings with direct reports
• Act as escalation point for clients, internal teams, and ad tech partners
• Assist in new business pitches by curating content and/or delivering material to prospective clients
• Responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on media plans to ensure they represent the programmatic practice properly
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of each client’s business and find opportunities to grow each account
• Provide thought leadership and be an avid contributor to the 360i blog or write bylines for timely POVs on developments within the programmatic space.
Qualifications
• At least 10+ years of business experience with 5+ focused on benefits of programmatic buying
• Solid understanding of the entire programmatic buying ecosystem, specifically the intricacies involved in executing campaigns in both the open exchange and private marketplace environments
• Proven ability to think creatively about challenging problems and produce custom/innovative solutions
• Problem-solving nature and deep curiosity to uncover the best solutions to help the client reach or exceed key performance indicators (KPI)
• Advanced presentation skills. Excellent deck building and strong storytelling capabilities are required
• Strong understanding of 3rd party tracking and serving technologies, primarily DoubleClick For Advertisers/DoubleClick Campaign Manager
• Effective client management skills with a strong customer focus
• Excellent communication skills – ability to distill key ideas and clearly articulate recommendations to a novice audience
• Excellent at storytelling and creative thinking supported by strong written and verbal skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fun, and entrepreneurial environment
• Proven ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams
• Ability to self-manage, juggle multiple priorities, and pay strong attention to details
• Active experience with managing programmatic campaigns in a DSP is strongly desired
• Excellent planning and organization discipline
• Sales training experience is a plus
• College degree required, preferably in marketing, business, or economics
