Mediabrands Society - Senior Vice President, Managing Partner, Strategy
Position Summary
The SVP, Managing Partner, Strategy will fulfill a dual role of leading overall Media and Social Media strategy for UM and Mediabrands Society on specific, shared accounts. She/he will lead a team of strategists who are responsible for the development of brand media strategies (across platforms) and social media content. She/he will determine the best approach that connects the right consumer with the right content at the right time and place. This will entail partnering closely with the media planning, account, creative, production, and social media teams to develop effective and award-winning media plans and content.
Essential Functions
• Lead the overall strategic vision on accounts with confidence
• Maintain ownership of that vision from planning through to execution, ensuring the design/delivery of the total brand experience is both strategically sound and rooted in genuine cultural insight
• Lead the development and identification of new and interesting cultural opportunities (audiences to target and/or spaces to inhabit) to meet and surpass the required business goals
• Drive bigger, better and smarter thinking across platforms and touch-points to deliver more innovative and creative strategic thinking that can direct the design of leading edge solutions and award-winning breakthrough work
• Identify, nurture, and present business, brand, and consumer insights that lead to compelling media and creative ideas
• Keep abreast of client and category objectives, trends, talent, competitive advertising, and target mindset
• Provide the lead strategic voice to help guide the development and management of the brand’s owned channels and connect them with paid and earned media
• Guide development of measurement methodology and KPIs in collaboration with Analytics
• Help determine what content is working and what to optimize
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research
• Maintain and grow strong client relationships
• Identify and win new opportunities with existing clients
• Push and help evolve UM and Society to remain innovative and forward-thinking
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a field that you believe to be applicable to strong relationship management
Work Experience:
• At least 10 years of experience in strategic development, account planning, or the like
• Previous experience in content, media, creative, social media, PR, or broad communications
Skills:
• Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for building and growing accounts and an agency
• Work nimbleness and a proven ability to manage multiple projects on deadline and with a high degree of quality
• Ability to work across multiple clients and categories
• Sound decision making skills based on industry, client, and/or previous experiences
• Sound knowledge, interest, and experience in traditional, digital, and social media is required
• Proven experience in working with clients at all levels, with strong presentation experience
