VP/Partner, Global Digital Lead
Global Digital Lead at UM is responsible for leading the digital innovation and transformation of businesses across all lines of business and zones around the world. Global Digital Lead is an expert in the digital space, sets the digital working style for all team members, leads strategic direction and is a key, trusted partner for the clients. This role directly reports into the EVP, Global Managing Partner with a dotted line to the UM Agency Digital Lead. Digital disciplines covered in this role include: display, mobile, search, social, programmatic, data strategy and emerging technology.
In general, to succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate digital-first thinking, exceptional analytical skills, and a knack for converting data into actionable digital recommendations for our clients. We are fiercely committed to delivering high-quality analysis, in a structured, thoughtful presentation, with strict attention to deadlines and deliverables. An ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in both written and oral form and build trusted internal and external relationships are also key. Backgrounds in agency and consulting organizations are desired, as skills in analyzing and presenting information are honed.
This position is suited to a digital strategist with 8-10 years’ experience working in a similar agency environment or in a management-consulting firm.
Essential Functions:
• Owns the client relationships with key digital functions
• Develops and executes the digital strategic vision across lines of business
• Coordinates with UM teams globally to ensure strategic vision is translated worldwide
• Driver of digital innovation – acts as a change agent both internally and with clients
• Leads alignment and integration efforts with digital measurement tools and platforms
• Responsible for local, zone and client digital education globally
• Sets global digital standards for planning, investment, measurement and technology
• Follows digital trends and develops strategic POVs for clients to follow
• Evaluates global digital buying opportunities and strategic partnerships (e.g., Google, Facebook)
• Leads coordination and integration with digital leads across partner agencies (e.g., creative agency, social media agency, CRM agency)
Skills:
• Deep digital and data know-how
• Strong analytical/logical thinking
• Ability to synthesize data and analytics into concise action-oriented strategies
• Great presentation and communication skills
• Client relationship development and management
• Ability to envision how digital technologies may impact client businesses in the future
Experiences:
• Bachelor’s degree and MBA preferable
• Background in digital strategy and/or consulting in digital or database marketing
• Familiarity with different digital channels (e.g., web, mobile, CRM, social media, search, programmatic)
• Experience working with large, global fortune 500 clients
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Experience working with large, complex data
• Familiarity with multi-channel measurement and attribution solutions
