The Edelman Brand team produces highly successful brand communications’ for a wide range of clients including Xbox, Shell, Unilever, Heineken and Starbucks. Passionate about developing creative ideas to help the world’s biggest Brands connect with their audiences, we work collaboratively across the entire Edelman network to transform Brands’ reputations. This work has scored us Cannes Lions award wins.
This rapidly expanding team, is currently the leading Consumer division in the UK. In order to continue to grow and deliver at a pace, we’re now looking for an energetic and ambitious Account Director to play a lead role on some of the world’s largest global brands. You will be responsible for managing teams of up to seven across these accounts – some of whom you’ll directly line-manage.
You will also work in collaboration with senior team colleagues to identify and implement entrepreneurial and operations initiatives capable of delivering fame for the wider business and, using key insights and IP to build strong strategic platforms, have the competence to present to and influence top tier clients.
Specific job requirements
In this role, working in collaboration with the leadership team, we will expect you to take lead in the following areas:
Business Strategy
• Develop and implement a strategy to help drive the next stage of growth building on an already strong portfolio of client accounts and with a focus on retained client accounts.
• Find ways to create, embed and share best practice creative Brand communications.
Client Services
• In support of the business strategy, deliver a client services strategy to forge close relationships with top tier clients and prospects; and to driving down over-servicing levels to 15%
• Contribute to a highly effective pitch and win strategy, to deliver an 85% win rate.
Operations
• Working with the Planner, ensure insights and primary research data is the rich seam through our Brand programmes.
• Be a role model in fostering good team management and relationship-building skills.
Senior leadership
• Act as a Brand team champion to drive fame for key initiatives, and work collaboratively at senior management level to deliver company priorities.
• Pioneer partner strategies – specifically amongst the media – in delivering key business objectives.
Experience required
• Significant senior, strategic and global communications, working to £m budgets
• Creative storyteller with a natural curiosity in the arts and broader cultural life and societal trends
• Use of digital and other technologies for storytelling and communications
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and unite teams behind a central concept, with experience of successfully selling in those concepts to clients and seeing them through to execution
