Objectives of the Role
The Digital Lead is responsible for overseeing the complete digital offering in NAM and advising in Canada and LATAM. The Digital Lead is responsible for building relationships at the highest level, providing thought leadership and strategic guidance for all existing and emerging digital media planning efforts/initiatives across the port.
The Digital Lead will effectively leverage experience, knowledge/skills to push innovative thinking and set challenging team goals and objectives balancing client, company and team needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the development of the “Best in Class” digital offering and capabilities. Drive innovation and deliver thought leadership across portfolio
• Collaborate with agency managers to ensure strong deployment and integration of digital offering, including Display, Search, Mobile, Social and Programmatic
• Ensure the team continually seeks a consumer-centric view in all strategic thinking
• Champion operational excellence, helping to drive such initiatives as change management, and staffing efficiencies
• Provide point-of-view internally and externally on various media in the marketplace
• Build and Leverage bigger digital and video partnerships leading to award worthy, idea driven executions
• Inspire while leading by example in developing, motivating, mentoring/coaching the team
• Build effective and highly credible working relationships with key clients PLUS influential stakeholders and cross-functional partners across the team, throughout the agency and within GroupM
• Ensure the team is effectively leveraging key applications and media research tools/resources
• Advise and direct staff regarding the necessary tools and training to improve upon existing expertise
• Work with management and cross-functional partners to identify and deliver additional revenue earning opportunities
• Ensure delivery of great campaign results across the portfolio
People Responsibilities
• Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration
• Lead by example while developing, motivating and coaching a team of Directors, Supervisors, and Planners
• Target top talent, help to recruit and select mid and senior level staff, ensure all senior level direct reports master the skills and organizational savvy required for advancement
• Must have the ability and desire to lead, and a willingness to work with and teach others within the group
• Adept at communicating effectively across all levels
• Able to establish and maintain effective relationships interdepartmentally as well as those outside the immediate team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Detailed awareness of client business issues, industry trends, consumer trends, promotional resources, market status, and competition
• Complete knowledge of all aspects of Digital Media, Display Search, SEO, SMM, Mobile, Programmatic etc.
• Solid understanding of interactive research tools
• Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
• Fluent in mathematical concepts with an ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas
• Able to understand media data sources in terms of what is measured, the method, and information reported
• Superior organizational, interpersonal, and managerial skills
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; concentration in Marketing/Media/Communications a plus
• 10+ years of media or marketing experience
