Manager/Director, Employee Engagement, Corporate Practice, New York
We search for a public relations professional to lead client accounts by overseeing the day to day projects and/or events to ensure the quality of work meets objectives and provides value. This role will not only be responsible for the activities for account team members but will also participate in new business development and support organizational initiatives. Responsibilities include:
• Cultivate relationships with clients
• Recommend and implement employee communication programs and initiatives to enhance the employee experience and drive business results
• Develop culture change and engagement solutions to address organizational challenges and evolutions
• Advise leadership on effectively leading change during transformation and assist in the development of key messages and materials
• Facilitate employee and leadership focus group sessions to garner insights and make recommendations on what’s needed.
• Design employer value proposition strategies, vision statements, messages and programs
• Develop complete communication plans for the client, participating in new business development, and supporting organizational initiatives.
• Act as primary resource for issues-oriented writing and executive level commentary.
• Identify and pursue business opportunities with existing clients, leading creative brainstorms and offering non-traditional ideas to address client opportunities.
Burson-Marsteller's Corporate and Financial Communications Practice offers strategic counsel and execution that is aligned with our client’s business objectives. We deliver expert guidance and implementation support on critical communications issues. Whether the goal is to build awareness and buy-in around a new corporate vision, guide a CEO through the first 100 days of leadership, or design a strategy to reach local constituencies and national influencers, Burson-Marsteller's Corporate Practice develops solutions that sustain corporate value and drive business results.
Required
• Minimum of 6 years of previous public relations work experience with a focus on employee engagement/change management programs and initiatives
• Understanding of employee engagement strategies, trends and best practices to ultimately drive better business results to connect employees to the goals and purpose of the business
• Advanced writing skills, ability to write for senior level management and audiences, and proficiency in editing and composition
• Ability to supervise and motivate account staff, and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations and produce program outlines for creative brainstorms
• Strong strategic-thinking skills, and the ability to handle and manage stressful situations
• Ability to develop and present new business pitches, and strong project-management skills
• Willingness to roll-up sleeves and get things done attitude
• Ability to travel onsite as needed
• Bachelor's degree
Preferred
• Previous experience in a public relations agency.
• Internal communications experience with emphasis on companies undergoing significant change: plans and execution of key documents; ideas for creative communication and engagement tactics including digital
• Corporate Reputation experience a plus
• Writing and editorial services skills; familiarity with message and content development
• Knowledge of PowerPoint with the ability to produce brand compliant decks and other materials including design of charts, schematics, etc.
• Proactive with positive attitude
