Ansible is part of IPG and is the only dedicated mobile agency in the network. Ansible sits within Mediabrands which is comprised of industry leading brands including UM, Initiative, and Media Experts.
The Role:Ansible is looking for an entrepreneurial, confident, detailed oriented and organized Mobile Media Director. As the Mobile Media Director you are the strategic and operational lead for the mobile media team that interacts with Mediabrands’ media agencies and clients. In your role, it will be critical to develop positive collaborative relationships with key agency leads and be recognized by our clients as the mobile media authority. Our clients expect a dynamic individual who can bring new and exciting mobile ideas to them to better engage consumers and help them achieve their communication and business objectives. We require a hungry self-starter, who can both lead a team and help build a business. It is critical that the person is able to work equally well with agency partners, clients, and media partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership
• Positively and professionally represent Ansible to clients, publishers and peers (such as at industry events or advertising festivals/exhibitions)
• In the short term, the individual will need to get their hands dirty creating media plans and helping deliver the work. In the long-term the individual will oversee media strategy, operations and a rapidly growing team.
• Ensure the team is delivering flawless execution in the day to day management of campaign delivery and reporting.
• Attract and develop the right team structures and reporting lines to best service agencies and their clients.
• Oversees the development and execution of assigned media recommendations and plans.
• Work closely with agency planning teams to understand our client’s objectives and provide mobile solutions based on best of breed partners to achieve the client goal.
• Sets the tone for efficiency in the work place and meeting and exceeding goals.
• Responsible for developing the mobile media skills and knowledge base of those more junior as well as supervise, advise and counsel the group in all daily account activities.
• Develop a close relationship with the Ansible US media team to ensure we are staying abreast of media partners that would benefit our Canadian clients.
Mobile Expert
• Work with global team on global deals, sharing case studies and leveraging technology
• Drive a significant uplift in the quality and quantity of mobile and technology thought as part of our clients’ communication plans.
• Contribute to identifying the right media partners to establish partnerships with.
• Manage spend across media partners based on established partnerships.
• Work with product teams to produce first to market mobile executions both media and non-media driven.
• Functions as primary contact for vendors and decision maker as to who is allowed to pitch the team.
• Is at all times alert to new media and new methods of using existing media and new developments, and shares with the planning group of such developments.
Business Partner
• Look for revenue opportunities beyond mobile media eg. Apps, creative and engage Client partner/team strategists.
• Actively engages and supports the Ansible team in non-media projects.
• Works closely with VP Client Business partners to understand and identify business objectives, to deliver mobile solutions to meet their needs.
• Works closely with UM, Media Experts, and Initiative VP’s of Digital to deliver on existing partnership commitments and will play a role in developing new partnership agreements.
• Works closely with Cadreon to deliver mobile programmatic solutions and ensure planning teams understand when to work with Cadreon and when to work with Ansible.
• Plays a key role in selling Ansible’s services to clients, both existing clients of Mediabrands and in new business pitches.
KEY SKILLS
• A deep knowledge of digital and more specifically mobile media planning.
• Expert in the Canada mobile media landscape, with a proven track record of bringing cutting edge, innovative ideas to clients.
• Motivating, inspiring and impeccable communicator – you bring the best out of your team and business partners.
• The ability to work with multiple partners, bringing together internal and client agency partners to the mutual benefit of our clients.
• An ‘ideas’ person – it’s not just about banners and buttons.
• Entrepreneurial and proactive – you’ve got the ability to create the new and next.
REQUIREMENTS
• 10+ years of experience in media/advertising,
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mobile media
• 5 years of experience building and managing a media team
• Must have the ability to guide and interact with senior media clients
