Description
OMD Entertainment, a division of Omnicom Media Group, is looking for a Managing Director to join our Marketing Science practice. We are the media agency dedicated to The Walt Disney Studios, and we are looking for a Managing Director level candidate to work closely with both our clients and our internal planning teams.
At OMDE, we are providing our clients powerful and innovative media strategies, along with big ideas that are driven by insights. OMDE’s Marketing Science practice is at the forefront of this process, helping to uncover these insights via sophisticated data analysis.
As a Managing Director of OMDE’s Marketing Science team, you will lead the practice for Walt Disney Studios and Disney Home Entertainment. You will manage resources, implement process improvements and provide mentorship to a team of analysts, and you will also work with the account team consisting of media planners to shape the strategic direction of your client’s digital marketing strategy through data-driven insights. You will also be responsible for resource prioritization, staffing and the financial performance of your team.
Areas of Responsibility:
• Leading the client relationship for OMDE’s Marketing Science guidance at all seniority levels (from CMO to most junior clients)
• Act as liaison for Disney’s Marketing Science, Technology, and Finance teams. Role will work directly with senior members of the Disney Marketing Science team to ensure they are getting the best information and access to what Omnicom has to offer. In return, the role will have access to the client’s projects and priorities.
• Establishing yourself as a thought leader around digital analytics concepts / methods / tools and the use of data and analytics to inform planning
• Ensuring excellence in the delivery of all internal and external digital analytics demands
• Ensuring that analytics efforts lead to clear, compelling and actionable insights with insightful narratives constructed through sophisticated analytics techniques
• Anticipating client’s needs and proactively developing solutions to address them
• Identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes around the use of data, digital measurement, reporting and analytics methodology and management processes
• Presenting reports, POVs and other materials to clients on a regular basis over the phone and in person
• Leading, mentoring and training a team of 4 analysts at various levels
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related fields. Advanced degree (MBA / MS / Ph.D.) is preferred.
Requirements
• 15 + years of experience in a quantitative data driven field
• Media agency experience preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A passion for both digital marketing and data analytics
• Independent thinker with ability to manage and prioritize a number of concurrent tasks, while mentoring and managing a team of analysts
• Ability to move beyond descriptive analytics and employ more sophisticated techniques (predictive & prescriptive analytics)
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas to multiple audiences both verbally and in writing
• Comprehensive knowledge of ad technologies, how they work, and how to troubleshoot
• Ability to work well with others and work in cross functional teams
• Ability to set individual goals for his/her direct reports and measuring individual success / performance
• Ability to identify issues related to quality of work and/or work load, and re-allocate resources to address these issues

Desired Technical Skills:
• Experience with one or more of the major DMP implementations (BlueKai, Neustar, etc.)
• Experience with marketing technology (Exchanges, DSPs, etc.)
• Experience or familiarity with Digital Attribution solutions (Visual IQ, Converto, etc.)
• Previous experience with web applications, programming languages, and advanced analytics software packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, CSS, Java, C/C++)
• Master’s degree with specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or other quantitative field or equivalent
• Demonstrated strong mathematical modeling skills
• Some experience with emerging big data analytics, such as machine learning
• Experience in ad-serving and web analytics tools (Google DFA, Atlas, Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)
• Fluency with concepts of database design and SQL (including Tableau and other market-leading alternatives)
