POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the SVP, Global Leadership Development, this position will work across locations and lines of business to design and/or execute management and leadership development solutions and learning initiatives. Using both formal and informal resources and tools, solutions will be based on an assessment of organizational needs and will focus on supporting high performing management and leadership capability to deliver on IPG Mediabrands’ business strategy. Development of 70:20:10 learning opportunities and blended solutions for managers and high potential leaders is vital to the success of this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Support and help implement Mediabrands’ leadership and management development programs and strategy, under the guidance of SVP, Global Leadership Development.
• Lead the continued implementation, enhancement and sustainability of the Manager Blueprint Curriculum to provide a foundation of leadership capability across Mediabrands’ people manager population.
• Conduct analyses to identify additional learning needs of front-line managers through functional and business leadership levels.
• Build relevant learning solutions that provide Mediabrands with common models, best practices and nomenclature.
• Support the D30 Leadership Development program as needed to ensure its continued success, including communications, venue management, logistic support, participant assessments.
• Leverage 70:20:10 approaches to talent development. Modalities may include classroom, online learning, on-the-job assignments, assessments, action learning, coaching/mentoring and readings.
• Where appropriate, select and build partnerships with external providers and developmental resources to achieve development objectives.
• Put tools and processes in place to facilitate transfer of learning and stickiness of development initiatives.
• Leverage technology and social learning development offerings to ensure top quality and continuous improvement.
• Develop appropriate metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of management/ leadership development programs and quantify their ROI.
• Create/support new programs and initiatives to develop high potential talent. This includes design and implementation of programs and solutions that tightly manage the career growth for targeted critical talent.
• Work collaboratively with the extended L&D/Talent community to ensure that development practices are aligned with onboarding, performance management and total rewards systems.
• Leverage IPG development programs and initiatives (e.g., My Lead, TASL), to supplement Mediabrands’ offerings.
• Oversee the use of the FLITE: Velocity Learning Management System as an element of Mediabrands’ management/leadership development strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications:
• Appropriate academic credential, with focus on organizational development, education, or human resources (or equivalent experience)
Work Experience:
• 5+ years of experience; a respected professional in management/talent development
• Media agency and/or marketing communications industry experience preferred
• Quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a fast-paced, matrixed organization
• Experienced in working directly with leadership teams and exercising influence and relationship building skills
Skills:
• Commercial acumen and an understanding of the business and its needs; including effective budget management.
• Significant understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design principles and a proven track record of creating & implementing sustainable learning solutions
• Conceptual/theoretical capability in designing comprehensive and valid programs.
• In-depth facilitation skills and fluency; able to present concepts clearly, articulate key distinctions and lead rich discussion suited to participant needs
• Coaching ability to provide constructive, timely feedback (as appropriate), and challenge individuals and groups through skillful use of questioning and other coaching techniques
• Project management expertise; skillful at managing time and resources to ensure that multiple priorities are balanced and delivered appropriately
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze data, identify themes and trends, draw conclusions and formulate appropriate recommendations
• Technologically and digitally literate; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Travel Requirements
(if applicable):
Occasional travel as needed to support the implementation of new and existing programs (15-20%)
