The Senior Director, Digital Analytics,
will support the product development team in the design, development and commercialization of cutting edge, data-driven ad-tech products for Catalina’s CPG and agency clients. He/she will define the processes to extract, integrate, and analyze digital media data, shopper data, and 3rd party data in a scalable way, focusing on opportunities to efficiently deliver insights, targeting, measurement and KPIs via dashboards and automated analytics/reporting. He/she will work closely with a small team within the Analytics Department, and will have direct communication with Analytics leadership to execute key strategies. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with data analysis and predictive modeling best practices to drive innovation in these areas within Catalina. Key areas of expertise will include data extraction, big data, statistics, recommender systems, and machine learning implementation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Data munging including extracting data in a raw form from the data source or log file, "munging" the raw data using algorithms or parsing the data into predefined data structures, and finally depositing the resulting content into a data store for future use.
• Help build machine learning models (including predictive models and recommender systems) and mine data to detect for patterns, opportunities and insights using appropriate suite of software with a data product as the end goal.
• Oversee the continued development of the analytic capabilities within the Catalina network, identifying opportunities to improve the processes and streamline activities.
• Clearly communicate and summarize findings for the team to help develop better products.
• Participate in the development and testing process of future products
• Analyze and interpret data in efficient manner
• Interact with various cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Technology, and 3rd Party vendors, to understand processes and technologies and implement analytical solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree in Statistics, Economics, Market Research or other Decision Science related field
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years working in a data analysis, market research, or promotion/advertising environment
Experience in syndicated research &/or consumer packaged goods preferred
Data visualization experience preferred
Experience in the digital ad tech space preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Experience building machine learning models in h2o, R, Python or SAS, including linear / logistic regression, tree-based models and SVMs.
• Ability to extract, transform and clean data sets from multiple sources.
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of marketing campaigns. This includes sampling techniques and testing for statistical significance.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Familiarity managing, querying and aggregating large data in a Hadoop environment.
• Experience with web analytics, online recommendation systems, reinforcement learning and multivariate testing preferred.
• Knowledge of UNIX, Neteeza (or similar) and relational databases
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
