Objectives of the Role
The Associate Media Director (AMD) acts as the day-to-day liaison between the client and media team, providing leadership, strategic direction and input for media plans. The AMD effectively leverages experience, knowledge and skills to push innovative thinking while balancing client, company, and team needs with the assistance of the Director or Group Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the day-to-day strategic integrated media planning activities for assigned account(s)
• Help develop planning objectives and strategies that coincide with the client’s marketing direction
• Establish and grow client relationships by demonstrating an understanding of industry and client business issues
• Achieve the financial goals of the account by managing costs, revenue, and scope of work in accordance with client contract
• Oversee budget allocation process for all media based on client initiatives and direction; accurately project costs and anticipate the financial results of plan revisions
• Work with internal offline and online buying teams to gauge media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
• Develop POVs on various media in the marketplace
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Detailed awareness of media landscape, trends, challenges and competition
• Strong knowledge of all aspects of offline media: TV, Radio, Print, OOH, etc.
• Strong knowledge of all aspects of digital media: Programmatic, Display, Mobile, Video, Search, Social, etc.
• Solid understanding of interactive research tools such as comScore, Ad Relevance, @plan, and Media Metrix
• Solid understanding of research tools such as Telmar, Xpert, Simmons, MRI, Commspoint
• Knowledge of Mediaocean Suite: Prisma (online), DDS (offline)
• Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising
• Proficient understanding of media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
• Ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas looking outside the box
• Creative ability to partner and develop innovation and first to market opportunities
• Strong understanding of media data sources
• Success in managing prior client accounts
• Strong written, presentation, analytic, quantitative/qualitative and verbal skills
• Superior organizational, interpersonal and managerial skills with attention to detail
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 6 to 8 years’ previous experience desired
• Prior experience managing a team
