Summary:
The Strategic Negotiations Team is an integral part of ‘Team IBM’ media. It is comprised of professionals from Neo and Mindshare who sit with the full ‘Team IBM’ media team at Neo@Ogilvy. The group is responsible for relationship management with IBM’s preferred media partners, global media contract negotiation, global coordination of budgets and reporting, stewardship of incentives, and review, evaluation and approval of pricing including sponsorships and new opportunities. The team is involved in all aspects of the business and must keep up to date on the ever-changing media landscape, including performance marketing, programmatic and social as well as traditional media tactics. Also, key industry topics such as viewability, fraud and ad blocking. This is a dynamic and strategic team that provide significant value to IBM.
Overview of Responsibilities
• Works closely with senior IBM clients on the WW Corporate Media Team
• Senior level relationship management with IBM’s preferred media partners
• Strategic negotiation of global media contracts for IBM
• Responsible for managing the optimization of ROI for IBM’s media spend
• Oversee a team responsible for reporting and analysis of IBM’s global spend and agency generated value
• Print and Digital rate negotiation and management
• Works in close collaboration with the agency campaign (planning) teams and the central operations team
• Mentors members on the Strategic Negotiations team at all levels from AMD through to Associate
Systems & Tools:
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Media Tools and Donovan Data Systems is a plus but not required
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications
• Minimum of eight years’ experience in planning and/or negotiations
• Comfortable working with budgets and numbers
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and detail oriented
