Workforce Violence Prevention Coordinator
Job Details
In partnership with essential Company and Department of Safety and Security personnel, the Workplace Violence Prevention Coordinator (WPVC) develops and coordinates the Medical Center’s strategy to identify, assess, prevent, de-escalate, and recover from incidents of workplace violence. The WPVC serves as the designated lead of the Medical Center’s Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
- In collaboration with the Violence Prevention Committee, various Medical Center committees, Human Resources, and other essential stakeholders develops policies, procedures, training, education, and resources that address prevention, recognition, response, de-escalation, and reporting of workplace violence incidents.
- Develops clinical patient care strategies to reduce injuries caused by spontaneous/affective violence due to medical conditions (e.g., head injury, dementia, delirium, or psychiatric conditions)
- Reports incidents of escalating, ongoing, and/or targeted threats of violence to the Office of Threat Assessment.
- Completes time sensitive and accurate documentation of case management actions for all cases.
- Refers impacted victims and witnesses to FEAP and other support services.
- In collaboration with critical partners, collects and analyzes annual data making recommendations to Medical Center leadership for process, safety, and resource enhancements.
- In collaboration with critical Medical Center and DSS partners, ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and other accreditation and regulatory agencies regarding workplace violence prevention requirements.
- Serves on or chairs various committees charged with violence prevention efforts.
- Performs related duties as required.
Position Compensation Range: $73,444.80 - $117,520.00 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or similar course of study.
Experience: 3 years of workplace violence prevention experience including the investigation, intervention, and case management of situations involving threatening, aggressive, or violent behaviors required. 3 years of experience developing a workplace violence prevention program with a multi-disciplinary team in a large complex healthcare setting preferred. 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Experience developing and providing training on workplace violence prevention topics preferred. Specialized training, certification, and experience de-escalating verbal and physically assaultive patients and patient visitors preferred. Specialized training, certification, and experience in behavioral threat assessment and management preferred.
Licensure: Licensed mental health professional or Registered Nurse required.
