Leadership:
• Lead a team of local sellers through effort to diversify a broadcast sales portfolio and penetrate vital business categories
• Work alongside National and Digital Sales managers to maximize opportunity
• Will foster a culture based on new business development. This requires a deep appreciation for a playbook that includes; systems, performance measurement, coaching/development, and a results-oriented leadership philosophy
• Demonstrate an understanding of media sales and encouraged to identify high-performance sales talent to build a championship team
Coaching Background:
• Current leadership of 10+ teams or recently-promoted senior sales leader
• Experience should be heavily grounded in out-bound sales activity
• Demonstrated “account management” skills will be secondary to expertise in new business development and building client relationships
• Ability to cultivate long lasting customer relationships with mutual residual benefit
• Develop and implement a sales plan that will meet the station’s revenue goals with emphasis on direct, new direct, digital, station features and event based marketing
• Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with the Account Executives
• Maintain an ongoing recruitment effort to ensure top quality staffing choices
• Participate and lead sales meetings and training sessions
• Manage inventory and reporting in Stratus (Cumulus’ Traffic System)
• Utilize qualitative research to position the stations
Requirements:
• 5-10 years’ of steady progression as a sales leader
• 2-3 years’ experience as a sales manager or above
• Strong understanding of lead generation and CRM systems
• Recognized top-performer, high-energy personality with strong goal-orientation and ability to coach/mentor
