We have an opening for a VP, North American Broadcast Sales. This position will be based in Burbank, CA or New York, NY. It will ultimately report up to the Company Chief Financial Officer and assigned to support the business line leadership in Delivery Operations.
SUMMARY:
The VP, North American Broadcast Sales is responsible for driving revenue in the Company Broadcast Services portfolio emphasizing Company MediaCloud IP and related services. This role is responsible for identifying and securing significant new business with a concentration on the development and growth of broadcast channel and station owner customers as well as live linear workflow solutions. Significant new business is defined by orders driving annual revenues of multiple millions. The role will require excellent industry knowledge of the broadcast industry and related workflows, a thorough understanding of Company’s offering and an ability to secure deals with solid commercial foundations for profitability and growth. In addition to selling services specific to MediaCloud, the role must continually look for cross-sales opportunities into the larger overall Company supply chain.
The role will also be responsible to represent Company at multiple levels and disciplines, and able to instill a confidence and trust with a customer that results in strong partnerships.
This position plays a key role in our content growth strategy and will be expected to play a leadership role in helping the business understand necessary requirements for obtaining new business in this area. A collaborative approach with senior leadership at Company is critical in creating a strong interface with the client’s needs.
This position requires an individual who can engage with senior level executives as well as “in the trenches” operators, communicate effectively, has superior follow through skills, can build consensus among disparate groups, and understand digital distribution technologies, formats and workflows. This position requires an experienced perspective that can creatively find opportunities to add value to this community effectively navigate sales & negotiations and advise senior business and customer leaders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Execute a “reach out and check in” program with prospects.
• Develop strategic opportunities with this community to position Company as a preferred partner directly with them.
• Present solutions for immediate issues or opportunities.
• Provide technical consulting feedback and recommendations to this community.
• Coordinate and participate in the compilation of budgets and forecasts, in conjunction with Australian Executive Management Team.
• Deliver against annual revenue targets and operate within agreed expense budgets, with accountability for overall sales performance.
• Actively participate as a member of the North American Roadmap team, and contribute to overall strategy, product and market offerings.
• Prepare and coordinate sales proposals, tender bids and contracts.
• Identify and qualify sales prospects and organize and conduct demonstrations and business solution presentations.
• Utilize Salesforce to record and report on sales activities.
• Develop, maintain and review a personal sales plan to achieve sales revenue targets from key prospects.
• Ability to qualify opportunities to maximize the sales cycle and optimize team members input and time.
• Develop and deliver compelling and customized sales presentations and demonstrations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Broadcasting & Media Industry, competitor activities and strategies, pricing client objections and value selling.
• Domestic and international travel may be required from time to time along with the requirement to occasionally attend industry Trade Show and client events in the evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years’ experience in broadcast sales and technology roles. Broadcast IP technology experience preferred.
• Management of multi-disciplinary technology organizations and/or business applications and systems.
• Demonstrated experience to meet sales targets.
• Vertical knowledge of Broadcast & Media workflows and industry.
• BS degree or equivalent experience required.
• An advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience building or operating digital asset management systems.
• Has led negotiations to closure of significant revenue projects.
