And we have over 100 million unique visitors a month, which is more than Buzzfeed, Yahoo News, and Huffington Post. Because our team consists of over 110 local properties with USA TODAY at the helm, you’ll have the luxury of living in a community you love while making a national impact.
The Cincinnati Enquirer, which traces its proud history to 1841, is seeking a transformational leader to serve as the next executive editor.
This editor also will be at the helm of the USA TODAY Network’s Ohio Region, supervising the flagship Enquirer and 10 publications that form the Media Network of Central Ohio. The successful candidate will be a seasoned news executive who can articulate a strategic vision while setting and executing coverage priorities. This person will have the skills to both elevate the journalism and grow the Ohio network’s digital reach. The right candidate will have a proven record of high-impact investigative editing and innovation in storytelling across multiple platforms.

Applicants should have a clear understanding of how to target specific audiences and how to effectively engage readers in the digital space and in person. The right candidate will have the experience and ability to assess structure, personnel and technological needs, and to make necessary changes. The editor will collaborate across the USA TODAY Network, which encompasses USA TODAY and 109 local news brands.
The Enquirer, which focuses on greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, has a strong legacy of investigative journalism and is a leader in statewide political coverage and coverage of the Reds and Bengals. It is a newsroom with ambition, publishing projects such as the highly successful “Accused” podcast and in-depth coverage of the opioid epidemic in Ohio.
