Company, the largest K-12 Educational Content Provider in the U.S., is seeking an experienced Market Research professional to lead HMH's Market Intelligence and Research Group.
This hire is a driven, experienced and accomplished market research professional that will, bring in best practices to understand our consumers, help guide Product Development and redefine and implement HMH's market research strategy as the company continues its transformation from a traditional Book Publisher to an Education Media Company.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for redefining and implementing HMH's market research strategy as the company continues its transformation from a traditional Book Publisher to an Education Media Company.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across Product Management, Product Marketing, Product Development and Sales to plan, execute and deliver Market Intelligence goals.
• Ensure consistent approach to Market Research is followed across key products and identifies ongoing improvements to protocol.
• Develop and realize strategic vision for how primary and secondary research can glean actionable insights to inform product development.
• Ensure that the developed strategy follows best practices in the Market Research field and incorporate techniques leveraged in other leading companies both within our market and outside, including media, consumer products and software industries.
• Responsible for managing a team of Market Research professionals, including Insights Managers, Market Research Analysts and Corporate Research Librarian, responsible for both primary (quantitative and qualitative) and secondary research.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree, required
• Minimum of 5years of significant and proven experience with both qualitative and quantitative state of the art research methodologies,
• Experience in consumer and/or education space, particularly related to children and parents, is preferred but not required
• Expertise in designing and implementing research studies in support of Strategic Planning, Product Development and Marketing for parents, millennials, etc
• Ability to multi-task and be proactive & independent in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proven ability to effectively manage large-scale market research and budgets
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to understand business strategies, tactics and implement measurable research plans Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Excellent presentation skills
• Results oriented, independent, entrepreneurial and self-motivating
• Well-developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across functions within the group
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
