Position profile:
Company is looking for someone with an absolute passion for all things digital marketing. This position is responsible for setting Companies long term digital strategy, as well as leading a talented team of marketers, creatives, and project managers to achieve these goals. This is a Global role that spans over 40 markets. Company is an iconic brand, known for its fun and daring and recognized as a leader in Digital Marketing for Beauty. This is a left brain / right brain role that demands expertise in data analysis and empathy towards the right creative message.
Essential duties and requirements:
• Digital Strategy
◦ Analyze customer, industry, and market trends to establish long term digital marketing strategies, priorities, and goals.
◦ Lead identification of customer insights via a combination of local market discussions, data analysis, outside partnerships, and first hand research.
◦ Create breakthrough channel strategies to ensure Company stays ahead of our competition.
◦ Analyze broad business problems, create actionable digital programs, and lead large cross-functional teams to solve business issues.
◦ Oversee development of the Digital Playbook, a tool used by the markets to establish yearly strategy, goals, and plans.
◦ Partner with the Analytics team to publish the quarterly digital report, a compendium of digital goals and performance by country.
◦ Grow relationships with industry leaders (YouTube, Instagram, etc…) and start-ups to ensure Company stays at the vanguard of marketing innovation
• Digital Marketing Leadership
The Digital Marketing team consists of regional managers responsible for providing country, industry, and campaign insights. They ensure local staff, strategy, and goals are aligned with Company’s global priorities. They also lead the digital marketing campaigns for various initiatives such as product launches.
• Provide management oversight of the Digital Marketing team in partnership with the Sr. Director of Digital Marketing.
• Provide digital marketing expertise to help resolve local market conflicts as needed
• Review campaign briefs to ensure they distill the most critical customer, industry, and campaign learnings.
• Coordinate with internal teams at Company to ensure that global digital marketing initiatives are broadly aligned (PR, Product, VM, etc...)
• Digital Creative Leadership
The Digital Creative team consists of designers, copywriters, UX, and motion talent. They are responsible for designing our global websites and producing the various digital assets used worldwide (photography, videos, emails, social posts, etc…)
• Provide management oversight of the Digital Creative team in partnership with the Digital Creative Director.
• Review work to ensure it is infused with our brand DNA and is establishing Company as a unique and loved brand worldwide.
• Provide a bridge between data and creative to ensure marketing insights are used to constantly improve our work.
• Provide inspiration to the creative team by ensuring work is broadly used throughout the organization and by sharing new trends.
• Digital Project Leadership
The Digital Project Management team consists of project managers that source vendors, produce the campaign work, and manage website development.
• Provide management oversight of the Project Management team in partnership with the Director of Project Management.
• Manage department P&L and ensure program initiatives align with strategic priorities and are tracking to goals.
• Resolve conflicts for competing resources and budget as needed.
• Recommend operational improvements to the delivery of marketing services in order to maximize success and reduce costs.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years previous experience in digital marketing
• Experience in Cosmetics and/or consumer packaged goods industry
• Demonstrated ability in managing a team of marketers, creatives, and project managers.
• Expert understanding of key beauty channels worldwide (YouTube, Instagram, Influencers, Weibo, Naver, etc…)
• Expert understanding of website traffic generation (paid search, email, etc…)
• Prior experience leading international digital campaigns for a global company
• Experience with the latest in digital advertising; SEM, social, native, display re-targeting, etc…
• Experience working on APAC channels (WeChat, Tmall, Kakao, etc…)
• Excellent Account Mgmt skills; Leadership, negotiations, team building, etc…
• Excellent ability to communicate clearly verbally, in writing, and via presentations
• Experience managing a P&L
• Ability to travel internationally
• Manage expenses per the company T&E Policy
• College degree required.
