POSITION TITLE
VP – Ad Sales Finance
OVERVIEW
This position will be responsible for Company pricing and advertising sales forecasting, revenue and profitability analyses, and financial closings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Owns all elements of the pricing process including:
◦ Assist sales leadership in setting sales strategy, pre and post air sales analysis, rate card formulation, analyzing pricing trends and ratings.
• Work with the Senior Management along with Pricing & Planning and sales leadership to prepare the annual operating budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plan, monthly operational reviews and other estimates and presentations as required.
• Directs analyses of pricing, media mix and inventory allocation to help SMT determine the most profitable use of television, digital and other assets.
• Develop and own all reporting and analytical processes for Ad Sales revenues.
• Work closely with sales management to analyze and report sales risks and opportunities by identifying core drivers (e.g., ratings, price, and volume).
• Responsible for key sales finance functions including general ledger posting of actuals/accruals and maintaining high levels of controllership in the ad sales process.
• Work with Strategic Planning and Sales Leadership in cores sales function:
◦ Inventory/capacity utilization & analysis.
◦ Efficient analysis and forecasting.
◦ Up Front and Scatter sales analysis (to determine maximum potential pricing).
◦ Client and Category mix, targets and analysis.
◦ Development of selling rate cards.
• Perform ad hoc analyses on financial impact of schedule changes, program purchases, program and daypart profitability, alternative selling metrics, etc.
• Assist SMT in formulation of Compensation/Commission Plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management and analysis.
• Minimum 3 years prior Ad Sales Finance experience.
• Prior management experience a plus.
• Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communications skills; ability to present and communicate ideas and thoughts to all levels of the organization from senior management to entry level staff.
• Accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Self-starter, can work independently.
