Urban Decay is seeking a Visual Merchandising Design Manager to join our team in Newport Beach, CA
POSITION PURPOSE
The Visual Merchandising Design Manager will oversee the creative vision for all Urban Decay Global Visual Merchandising projects; which includes the development and execution of the brand’s visual merchandising initial design and POS fixture concepts for seasonal updates. The Visual Merchandising Design Manager will also be responsible for supporting new concepts and fixture design on a global level specifically adapting designs of flagship animations in collaboration with the Creative team. This is a cross-functional position that will help establish the creative assets for focus units, event spaces, guidelines and overall visual merchandising direction. This position will report to the VP of Global Merchandising and will work closely with the Creative Service team, the Store Planning & Design team, as well as with the US and DMI Merchandising teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the creative vision of all Global Merchandising projects across the entire organization; with our US retail partners and international teams. This includes, but is not limited to; focus units, event and animation spaces, POS fixture design, etc.
Visual and strategic input to the companies merchandising standards and seasonal merchandising guidelines (Creative Asset Guide).
Delivers design intent to merchandising and creative service design teams on all VM projects.
Collaborates with Creative Service team on overall seasonal concept and overall design direction.
Solid knowledge of newest production techniques and materials at point of sale.
Collaborate as needed, with the digital rendering specialist to ensure design intent is maintained and illustrated effectively.
Gathers internal approvals and liaison with the merchandising managers to ensure manufacturers are designing to brand expectations and design intent.
Manages the design and overall design direction with outside vendors and design agencies, as needed.

• Excellent knowledge of Mac Platform design programs with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite

Passion for print design and display work
Illustration skills necessary
Strong eye for detail and brand standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OR REQUIREMENTS
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education/Experience/ Licenses or Certificates
• BFA or BS degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience
Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in the design field
Strong information visualization and prototyping skills
SOFTWARE
• Strong computer skills
Adobe Creative Suite
Basic Mac system/software
Basic MS Office Software
Standard MS Office applications
Basic PC/Mac conversion/compatibility troubleshooting
Resourceful with internet
