Description
At Company, the way our store looks is just as important as the products we sell. Our Visual Merchandisers help us showcase our merchandise in the most appealing way possible allowing our guests to see, touch, and experience our products' details. Working with the Store Manager to oversee the placement of all products, you will also train your fellow Teammates on the art of merchandising and provide input into the stores overall layout. The right candidate must have a keen interest in fashion, a self starter and enjoy working on the sales floor.
Working as part of the Company team, you will be:
Organized.
Every day, you will oversee that new freight shipments are unpacked and merchandised appropriately.
Creative.
You will be responsible for organizing and displaying an ever-changing mix of merchandise. It’s up to you to conceptualize, design, and implement your merchandising ideas in a timely manner. Pace is the key to this position!
Flexible.
Due to the nature of this position, you may be asked to work early in the morning or late in the evening, when the store is closed. As such, a positive attitude and willingness to work hard are required.

Full-time Teammates will work a minimum of 35 hours per week. Part-time Teammates will work approximately 15-25 hours per week, with seasonal variable hours. (Please note that hours are issued based upon performance and our scheduling needs, so it is possible your hours may fluctuate.)

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Visual Merchandiser’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the
most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guests.” The Visual Merchandiser performs
a variety of operational tasks to support the execution of merchandise handling, replenishment
process and all aspects of visual presentation within the store (e.g. setting up floor displays,
mannequin presentations, window displays, instructing teammates in merchandising,
housekeeping).
Essential Job Functions:
A. Tasks
• Plan displays to entice and appeal to guests
• Understand and use the BKE Planner and Visual Merchandising Handbook
• Ensure all merchandise is folded according to Company standards and has size and
price stickers
• Ensure that all shoe displays are full and organized
• Ensure that all shelves, bars, pegs and/or other fixtures are off the floor and
counters every evening
• Ensure that all counters are clear and free from paper, trash, hold tickets, etc.
• Change and rotate all windows, tables and wall mannequins to be dressed in Company
merchandise per Company guidelines
• Develop ideas or plans for merchandise displays and windows
• Ensure that all product is off the floor and hung up, and each bar is
organized by merchandise style
• Provide feedback to Store Manager regarding merchandise concerns
• Execute development and training of teammates in merchandising
• Change and rotate face outs and ensure displays are properly merchandised per
Company guidelines
• Ensure shoe and back stock areas, freight table, hanger holding, gift wrap and break
room areas are neat, clean and safe each day
• Make sure all of the freight is out of the back room and displayed accordingly
• Ensure all denim is folded according to Company standards and organized as neat
stacks on tables and shelves
• Ensure that all signage and sign positioning is correct
• Clean windows and check hardwood/concrete floors for gum, stickers, and spills
• Deep clean displays, dressing rooms, counters and register areas
• Order supplies and keeping the supply book updated
• Cancel layaways and send reminders to guests
• Execute markdown and pulls plans for store openers
