Overview
As a Vertical Leader (VP) for the I-Behavior Data Cooperative Team, you will focus on three major components. Foremost, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding account management goals. This will be accomplished by developing a rich and well-qualified pipeline of potential new clients and ensuring a high degree of ongoing client satisfaction and product performance. Your primary accounts can range from small to large size clients. Secondarily, you will create comprehensive, compelling, and effective proposals which successfully pair KBM Group’s leading direct marketing solutions with their client’s unique needs. Additionally, you will also act as the senior liaison for executive level contacts. To succeed in this role, you must build and maintain a position as a respected thought leader on data and analytics. This role will require you to represent KBM Group by speaking at least two major industry trade shows per year. This role reports to the SVP, Merchant Services and works closely with our operations and technology teams to define new product development initiatives and set quarterly objectives. You will also work closely with our marketing department to provide client feedback and help ensure product materials are fresh, effective and compelling. This key role provides an opportunity to help lead KBM Group and shape the future of the company and our industry.
Responsibilities
• Meet or exceed all department sales and business development goals
• Maintain an accurate 90 day sales and pipeline report in CRM for all Interactive products at all times
• Develop strategic direction, manage it and inspect it for execution
• Train & mentor Account Representatives, Account Executives & Account Directors to develop required skills
• Identify, develop, and lead strategic sales efforts to large brand advertisers
• Must have a positive attitude, be assertive, and aspire to be the best
• Help foster an energized, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment
• Self-directed travel as needed to achieve your goals (up to 40%+)
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Be expert on digital advertising, data and analytics
• Assist the team in creating comprehensive, compelling, and effective proposals
• Identify trending issues and proactively provide solutions to resolve them.
• Speak at two industry events per year
• Provide leadership and act as a liaison with other KBMG, Company Network, and WPP companies
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or post-graduate degree a plus.
• 10+ years’ experience in direct response data related industries (worked for a broker, worked in circulation in any vertical or account management role) required
• 3+ years’ experience minimum leading sales/account management teams
• Proven track record of success both as an individual contributor and sales leader within the direct marketing industry.
• Ability to take direction, manage tasks and make good decisions with minimal supervision
• Possess excellent communication, presentation and listening skills with a strong executive presence
• Ability to build productive relationships at all levels with internal and external clients.
• Effectively set expectations and manage upward and downward communication
• Ability to influence others in a matrixed reporting environment.
• Extensive industry connections and personal network a plus.
• Seen as an advisor and consultant at the highest levels within client organizations
• Documented thought leadership a plus
• Self-motivated, proactive problem-solver
• Ability to keep corporate perspective in day to day operations of the business when problems arise.
