As the Vice President of Business Intelligence you will provide thought leadership on how we capture, define, disseminate, and utilize the wealth of data that we collect about Company's marketplace. In this newly created position at our Chicago headquarters, you will partner with leaders throughout the organization to ensure that we effectively utilize data to manage and drive our businesses and to shape our future business strategies. This role will report into our CFO and will work closely with our CEO, Technology team, and other key business leaders throughout the organization to create a centralized business intelligence function that will be a single source of financial and operational metrics with consistent definitions across our portfolio of businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Develop one source of truth with no debate on the accuracy or definition (once definition is finalized) of a given data element
• Own all data definitions within Company which are based upon business needs, but arbitrated and determined by BI
• Maintain strong controls such that definitions can only be changed after a rigorous review process. Define and document a governance process that encompasses all of BI
• Develop a change management process that facilitates the ability for business leaders to propose and debate new metrics or metric modifications to identify if a change should be made to the data dictionary
• Create standard reporting and attribution methodology across Company
• Centralize existing BI analysts who are focused on defining data requirements, managing governance, and creating BI reports for use by business leaders throughout the organization with the goal of creating one central team focused on managing these key activities
• Establish succinct, well-defined, traceable business metrics and reporting that are used to measure/manage the business to drive performance
• Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team of professionals
Qualifications:
• Business leader who has the ability to work across the organization and has a strong data/analytical orientation
• Track record of successfully driving change and delivering results in ambiguous environments
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities that require strong project management and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to establish mutually productive and positive relationships with internal and external groups
• Resourceful and creative — must bring fresh insights to a dynamic business environment
• Strong critical thinking skills with ability to frame business issues and apply data analysis to support real-time decision-making
• Excellent communications skills
• Proven people and project leadership abilities
• E-commerce experience preferred
