The Vice President of Data Analytics will be responsible for providing robust, in-depth, quantitative analyses across all Company lines of business, tailored to suit business unit needs and audiences, from a results-oriented, growth-driven perspective. He/she will also help provide expertise and leadership for implementing, developing, and enhancing Company’s corporate analytics platform, including driving the forward-looking features, functions and solutions necessary to deliver the analysis and insights required for evolving business needs. This position reports to the SVP, Data Strategy and will assist her in leading business executives, users, and data producers to adopt best practices for data management processes and data quality standards, creating a culture of “enhanced data value” within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define regular KPIs and operational metrics for and across lines of business -- review operating plan drivers, revenue and expense drivers for each business unit. Report on performance trends and drivers of growth in each area (e.g., emerging markets, customer LTV, competitive benchmarks)
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop business/marketing tools and plans such as decision models, dashboards, testing designs, scorecards, and templates
• Champion the implementation and adoption of new analytics initiatives both conceptually and in the fulfillment of critical tools and processes – such as strategic segmentation, CLV, and recommender system
• Manage the full analytical lifecycle from concept to delivery, connecting optimization metrics to the strategic intent of campaigns and underlying business objectives
• Develop strategies to ensure a) capture all data source needs across business and partnering with DE on setup, diligence, prototype, b) capture all business process changes and their impact on data feeds, data model, analytical and reporting layer c) hold all Vendors accountable for reliability of data feeds
• Partner with technology organization to deploy an enhanced data warehousing and business intelligence infrastructure
• Build upon existing data analytics processes and plans to implement long-term organizational data roadmap
• Lead a team of data scientists – with high level of accountability for coaching and managing these resources
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of professional experience in corporate analytics-related roles
• Proven experience in building analytics function/capabilities including staff, tools, and processes
• Ability to synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative data and communicate relevant insights and recommendations using data visualization
• A deep and broad understanding of core and emerging analytics methods and approaches and how they can be deployed to drive value within a digital business
• Demonstrated ability to apply cutting edge statistical techniques to business problems and to leverage external thinking – e.g., machine learning and predictive analytics
• Strong technical skills:
◦ Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos, Qlik)
◦ Experience with statistical toolsets such as R, SPSS or SAS
◦ Experience with application programming languages (e.g. Python, Java) and reporting APIs
◦ Experience working with big data platforms (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery, EMR, Spark)
• Exceptional people and project management skills and ability to plan work and delegate accordingly
• Strong organizational, communications (both verbal & written), presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with a “roll up your sleeves” work style
• Bachelor degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. engineering, math, statistics, etc.)
• Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or related field of study preferred
• TV, Entertainment, Media, or Sports industry experience preferred
