Summary
Company Specialty Health is seeking to add a Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development who will work with broader Specialty Health leadership and other Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) team members to develop and implement the business unit’s growth strategy. This individual is responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new business opportunities and will work across the Specialty Health portfolio contributing to multiple business segments. This role will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of innovative business initiatives by designing visions, strategies, and tactics to address market shifts in order to optimize Company's competitive position. The Vice President, CSBD will report directly to the Senior Vice President, CSBD of Specialty Health.
Position Description
• Participates as a core member of, the Specialty Health leadership team
• Identifies strategic needs and new growth opportunities, establishes strategic plans and objectives, and prioritizes areas of focus
• Leads M&A / Business Development process in coordination with corporate M&A, FP&A and the business unit
• Defines and manages multiple and complex strategic projects towards high quality deliverables and timelines
• Manages a team of direct and indirect reports
• Ensures frameworks incorporate broader strategic considerations
• Manages expectations and results for BU leadership team and executive-level BU stakeholders
• Leads interactions involving controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers
• Leads M&A / Business Development process, including base-case vs. synergy case modeling, valuation work, and target engagement experience in coordination with corporate M&A, FP&A and the business unit
• Acts as executive level thought-partner for major strategic considerations
• Applies advanced analytics to support strategic story
• Occasional travel, approximately 20% - 40%
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• 10+ years business development and/or strategy experience
• 7+ years managerial experience
• Ability to develop strategy and manage initiatives by applying Business Unit context and by understanding the interests and concerns of key stakeholders across the enterprise and value to inform a broad, Company-wide viewpoint
• Leads and influences others with or without formal authority or people management responsibilities
• Manages stakeholders and complex processes

◦ Financial acumen including experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in light of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value
◦ Strategic and analytical thinking, strong project management and problem solving skills, sound judgment and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner
• Healthcare and Company Knowledge
◦ Healthcare industry experience with a strong understanding of key industry stakeholders and a particular understanding of healthcare services businesses
◦ Fluent in the language and business dynamics of Company
• Communication
◦ Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively
◦ Builds credibility and demonstrates comfort in working with and presenting to senior executive
Education
• 4-year Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred
