Vice President, Affiliate Marketing - Job Description
Oversee marketing efforts for the Company Affiliate Relations Team and Company Television Networks Distribution teams to drive the value proposition of Company with Company Affiliated television stations and MVPD distributors. Position emphasis will be primarily on Company Affiliate Relations, along with oversight of efforts related to MVPD distributors. Job duties will include 1) developing and executing strategies to promote the Company brand and Company content on a B2B basis with Company video distributors and Affiliates; 2) assisting MVPD distributors with promoting the Company brand and Company content to their customers, whether through Company initiated promotions or MVPD initiated consumer marketing; 3) work closely with various internal Company divisions to ensure consistent messaging across Company Affiliate and MVPD platforms. Additionally, this position will coordinate efforts with Company Affiliate Relations Client Services to plan various internal department events and external client events throughout the year. This position will also provide support to the Affiliate Relations and Television Networks Distribution teams in various areas such as sales materials, collateral, premium items, network ratings, Company O&O station research, etc., as well as stay up-to-date on various industry trends and modifications to our client’s product offerings.
Scope of Responsibilities:
• Report to the President, Television Networks Distribution & President, Affiliate Relations
• Develop innovative Affiliate Marketing strategies, tactics, promotions and events
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Company Affiliates and MVPD distributors and become each client’s main point of contact for Affiliate and/or MVPD Marketing initiatives
• Regular communications to Company Affiliated stations to reinforce the value of Company
• Work with internal teams/departments to manage communication with distributors, gain buy-in and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives
• Create and deliver internal and external sales presentations and related analysis as needed
• Oversee development of MVPD media assets, sizzle reels, one sheets, cross-channel spots, corporate ads, etc.
• Ensure regular distribution of programming highlights and updates, including ratings and research information
• Participate in the planning of industry events, an annual team meeting, external client events and conferences
• Build opposition marketing campaigns during negotiations
• Supervise Manager, MVPD marketing as well as Director, Research in the department
• Provide executive leadership as needed within the department
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• 5-10 years of TV affiliate sales/marketing experience
• Broad knowledge of media distribution across multiple media platforms including traditional broadcast networks
• Proven track record successfully working with distributors of the Company content portfolio across all platforms
• Experience supervising staff
• Proven ability to work effectively with autonomy
