Overview:

MWW PR is looking for a senior member of our Corporate Reputation team to manage a marquis piece of professional services business and serve as a key leader of the practice. This person will be responsible for creating and leading award-winning programs, developing our A-team of talent and helping to fuel the growth of our practice.
Ideal candidates will have proven, significant experience leading marquis accounts from both a strategy and execution perspective, as well as driving organic and new business growth and developing the teams. We are seeking a candidate with superior writing skills with ability to translate complex subject matter into actionable, strategic messaging appropriate for external audiences; and a person who can think big and bring a creative approach to corporate programs.
This role is ideally suited to a brilliant media strategist with an integrated approach across earned, owned and paid channels with a passion for executive visibility and thought leadership, and a leader who likes to be deeply integrated in the client’s team and business. Excellent business development skills including networking and prospecting, RFP management and delivering new business presentations are also critical success factors.
Professional services experience and knowledge of the technology sector are preferred. Experience with complex regulated business is also appreciated.
Responsibilities:
Account Management:
• Lead strategic direction, planning and implementation of large integrated accounts including development of strategic deliverables such as plans, C-level briefing materials, and other strategy related documents, with an eye toward continual alignment with client business objectives.
• Cultivate strong senior level client relationships and solutions oriented approach to partnership
• Day-to-day management of team to ensure results consistent with our strategy, and ongoing, proactive communication with client about all aspects of the programs.
• Lead ongoing ideation and creative processes for continual improvement of recommendations and programs, including leadership of the development of plans and deliverables from ideation sessions.
• Identify new, relevant media strategies and opportunities for the client to establish itself as a marketplace leader; maintain lead steer media relationships on behalf of clients.
• Drive executive positioning strategy for C-suite and emerging C-suite leaders.
• Assume results-driven approach to accomplishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other goals set during the year.
• Comfortable motivating and challenging team members to perform with high standards of excellence to ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain a thorough, demonstrated understanding of clients’ businesses and industries; actively follow and understand emerging issues, trends and news impacting clients’ business, and proactively advise the team and client on how best to leverage or address these developments.
• Effectively anticipate, troubleshoot and navigate client issues; appropriate engagement and “managing up” to agency leadership team. Manage client budget, projections, team billing and liaise with agency leadership and finance.
• Direct the account team to work effectively and in the best interest of client; maximize the agency’s network of resources to enhance client services.
• Regularly measure client satisfaction and needs and provide winning ideas to advance clients’ business objectives.
• Excellent project management and detail orientation; ability to execute against multiple tasks in an effective and organized manner; provide high quality deliverables on or prior to deadlines; manage the logistics of and run multiple, defined client projects from concept to completion on time and within budget.
New Business:
• Lead new business proposal development and work with appropriate agency resources and account teams to identify and secure incremental business opportunities.
• Support thought leadership and market-facing content development to support lead generation, network regularly for development of new business prospects.
Leadership:
• Regularly participate in external company promotion through articles, speeches, presentations, professional memberships, etc.
• Establish yourself as a role model for junior staff; lead journalist relationship-building initiatives within the team across various media sectors; actively look to maintain and build positive working relationships across all levels.
• Collaborate with and report to senior management on progress of team members and accounts.
• Conducts interviews with candidates identified by Talent Acquisition as part of the recruitment process to assess potential new talent for the team; maximize utilization of team members through employee goal setting, appraisals, and development plans; work with Human Resources to resolve personnel matters.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals and career path development for direct reports. Identify training and development needs of account staff for effective client servicing.
Qualifications:
• Approximately 8-10+ years of experience serving in a full-time role with a focus on public relations. Agency experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, a related field or in the liberal arts.
• Expertise working with professional services clients.
• Superior oral and written communication skills and advanced proofreading and editing ability.
• Success in leading and developing teams and working with team members of all levels on cross functional teams.
• Proven track record in client retention and growth, experience and success with new business situations.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and Cision (or related PR software).
• Ability to travel as necessary contingent on client and new business needs (requirements vary).
