This is a full-time position on the pharmacy team at Company Pharmacy. Company Pharmacy is the only 24/7 community pharmacy open to the public in the Charlottesville area. This position supports the mission of Company Health to transform the health and inspire hope to all Virginians and beyond by providing excellent community pharmacy services. The position offers competitive benefits and scheduling, including infrequent weekend and holiday shifts.
The Community Pharmacist provides excellent pharmaceutical care and ensures a positive patient experience to a diverse patient population in a dynamic outpatient pharmacy setting. The pharmacist works alongside other skilled pharmacists and technicians to achieve optimal patient therapeutic outcomes through optimal and cost effective drug selection and patient education. Supports patients that are transitioning from hospital to home.
- Collaborates with other Health System and Community Health providers to ensure optimal and cost effective drug selection
- Provides drug education to patients or their caregivers that are transitioning from hospital to home
- Provides pharmacotherapy education to patients, caregivers and providers.
- Promotes cooperative work environment

- Provides clinical services to community patients, including immunizations, MTM and initiation of drug treatments as allowed through Virginia Board of Pharmacy Statewide protocols
- Performs pharmacy functions according to Federal, State and local Health System and Department regulations and published guideline documents.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians
- Engages in professional self-development
- Supports the education and professional development of the Pharmacy department
- Limited weekend and holiday staffing requirements
- In addition to above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
Position Compensation Range: $52.46 - $83.94 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree required Experience: No experience required Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing and traveling for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
