We are looking for a User Research Moderator who has a passion for understanding and evaluating the gaming experience. The user research moderator works alongside User Experience Researchers to plan, execute, analyze, and report strategic research to help ensure players from all walks of life enjoy all of EA’s entertainment products to their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with UX Researchers to understand franchise research goals and objectives
Conduct user research studies for new entertainment products and established video game franchises, leveraging a multitude of qualitative and quantitative methods (observation, interviews, journals, video ethnography, surveys, lab studies, instrumentation, etc.)
Gather actionable data from a wide variety of research methods such as lab studies, surveys, and telemetry, as well as support data analysis
Facilitate studies set up and tear down
Manage and communicate with participants in a professional and consistent manner in line with established research moderating practices
Support generation of new methodologies that will pertain to each product’s unique gameplay and sensibility
Qualifications
Candidates should ideally have a bachelor degree in experimental psychology HCI, human factors, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
0 to 2 years’ experience in research design
Familiarity in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies which may include but not limited to; questionnaire development, survey research, card sorting, think aloud, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristics, usability testing, eye tracking and biometric analysis
Excellent written and oral communication skills including presenting to large groups of individuals
Must have teamwork skills and be a team player
Must be able to work autonomously
Experience in the game development, consumer, or entertainment software industry is highly desirable
Experience in game or level design is highly desirable
Statistical experience and data modeling highly desirable
Flexibility to work evening or weekend for conducting sessions as needed
A passion for gaming
