Summary of the position
The employee is responsible for ensuring that the standards of the Company Online Requirements (UOR) are respected. In addition, the employee is also responsible for validating the online gameplay of a title meets the expected criteria with regards to quality of service tests and Network Address Translation (NAT) behavior.
Responsibilities:
The primary tasks and functions of the role are:
• Methodically test each UOR standard;
• Prioritize tasks and collaborate with team mates to complete these tasks;
• Advise the production teams on the implementation and integration of the UOR standards;
• Perform multiplayer NAT testing on games using a variety of routers and network configurations, and assist the Development Teams with debugging the NAT implementation and interoperability;
• Perform multiplayer quality of service tests using specialized tools to restrict various aspects of the internet connection;
• Analyze and verify issues encountered by other testing groups (including first party companies);
• Be able to provide clear and concise description of a problem, and the steps to consistently reproduce it;
• Be able to provide, based on the applicable UOR, a clear and precise solution to the encountered problem;
• Follow and maintain bugs in the database;
• Facilitate and maintain contact with the Online Services & Development Teams with regards to the UOR/NW reported issues;
• Create and manage reports based on the tests performed, as well as maintain test documents;
• Report the evolution of the tests to the project management on a daily basis;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project-specific documents that are made available;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all the company and department internal applications and procedures related to the testing and validation process
• Seek new ways to improve his skills, the tools and procedures used in testing;
• Other various tasks as required;
Qualifications
Skills:
• Strong spoken and written English; French is a plus;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
• Knowledge of bug reporting database software (JIRA in particular);
• Strong knowledge of at least one of these platforms: XBOX One, PS4, PC;
• Strong time management and organization skills;
• Analytical, multitasking and reporting abilities;
• Ability to work collaboratively within a group;
Education:
• High School diploma, or equivalent;
• Training in video game testing is a plus;
Relevant experience:
• 6 months experience in quality control;
• Experience with managing/setting up computer networks is a plus;
